When I served as Co-Managing Director for the Circle of Intrapreneurs, we talked a lot about the interdependence of sectors. Changemakers within any organization can significantly influence policy improvements and realize the mutual benefits of collaboration (shared resources and acting as a key partner for organization in other sectors, such as educational institutions and non-profits) to drive impactful change. 🌎 I highly recommend “The Inside Innovator: A Practical Guide to Intrapreneurship” by Louis Gump - which discusses this and other ways to impact change through real-life stories. It’s a great read for anyone working to drive change inside their organization as it also helps readers understand how they can achieve more and build stronger relationships. 💪 #dowelldogood #socintraprenuer #intraprenuership

At Elzeever&Company, we are passionate about driving #positive change and empowering organizations that are dedicated to creating a lasting #impact. This week, our team had the honor of attending the Asseck Round Table, where thought #leaders convened to discuss strategies for crafting policies and regulations that foster an environment conducive to entrepreneurial #growth. While the discourse spanned various sectors, we were particularly inspired by the potential implications for the #nonprofit industry. As advisors to numerous mission-driven organizations, we recognize the immense value of cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset within this domain. Throughout the insightful conversations, we explored the unique challenges faced by non-profit #entrepreneurs, such as limited access to #funding, navigating complex regulatory frameworks, and scaling #sustainable solutions. By engaging with stakeholders from diverse sectors, we gained invaluable perspectives on how to create an ecosystem that nurtures and supports impact-driven #entrepreneurship. One of the key takeaways was the importance of simplifying regulatory processes and advocating for policies that remove unnecessary barriers. By streamlining bureaucratic hurdles, we can ensure that resources are effectively channeled towards driving meaningful change, rather than being consumed by administrative complexities. Furthermore, we recognized the need for increased #collaboration and cross-sector #partnerships. By fostering an environment that encourages knowledge-sharing, skill-building, and access to mentorship, we can empower non-profit entrepreneurs to develop #innovative #solutions and scale their impact effectively. At Elzeever&Company, we firmly believe that entrepreneurship is a powerful catalyst for positive transformation within the non-profit sector. By embracing an entrepreneurial mindset, organizations can think strategically, leverage resources efficiently, and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of societal needs. The Asseck Round Table discussions have inspired us to redouble our efforts in advocating for #policies and #regulations that support and empower our non-profit clients. We will leverage our expertise and insights to contribute to the ongoing dialogue, championing the cause of impact-driven entrepreneurship and fostering an ecosystem where visionaries can thrive. Together, we can unlock the full potential of non-profit entrepreneurship, creating a world where innovative solutions flourish, and lasting positive change becomes a reality. We extend our gratitude to the organizers and fellow participants for this enriching experience and reaffirm our commitment to being catalysts for a better tomorrow.

#Socialinnovators, what is YOUR story? We always emphasize the importance of telling a story when pitching. >> Tell your beneficiary’s story. Who are they? What challenges do they face? How are you trying to address these challenges? How has their life improved because of your efforts? Telling the story of your beneficiary is a powerful way to capture your audience’s attention and ensure your message sticks. It highlights the problem effectively and brings a human touch to the people you are trying to help. But there is another equally important story that is often missed out. Your own. Who are you as a person? What has been your journey? Why are you best equipped to solve the social problem at hand? For impact funders and partners, the Founder’s story is often the most vital factor. If they can’t connect with you or believe in your motivation and purpose, the deal is most likely off the table. So, craft your story with care and authenticity. If you have lived the problem, share your first-hand experience. If you have observed it from close quarters, share your learnings. Talk about how these experiences shaped your decision to take this path. Was there a pivoting moment that led you to this journey? So, the next time you present your work, remember to share your own story. Be genuine, be real and make it compelling. That is where the audience will see your passion come through. #socialentrepreneurship #socialinnovation #personalstory #socialentrepreneur #fundraising Social Innovation Circle #espressotips

As I wrap up my last doctoral course in business strategy and innovation, I've been reflecting on all the great insights I've gained from my classmates. We've had some really engaging conversations covering everything from business ethics to how important financial metrics (e.g., EBITDA, NPV, ROI, and EVA) are when looking at different diversification strategies, whether it's greenfield projects or acquisitions. This week, I've been diving into Michael Porter’s take on social entrepreneurship, and it's made me realize just how vital it is to have a deeper understanding of developing social enterprises, especially in the nonprofit sector. If this topic resonates with anyone in my network, I’d love to hear your thoughts, experiences, or insights from the nonprofit world. I'm always excited to learn from others who have expertise in this area! #nonprofit, #social_entrepreneurship, #business_strategy

I have been in hundreds of Board meetings. First attending as Entrepreneur trying to make sense of those Non-Execs in the room, and I have acted as Non-exec and as Chair. The "Mastering the Board room" course tells you everything t I wish someone would have told me all those years ago. I had no idea when I started what these Board meetings were about. Mostly I thought they were to be "survived" without too many questions or issues raised. Then I was lucky to have a world class Chair and Finance Director on my Board. They coached me and mentored me how to have amazing and hugely valuable Board meetings. I have mentored entrepreneurs, CEOs and early stage founders for 15 years. This course answers the questions I get time and time again. While working as advisor and mentor with many founders, their teams, CEOs, and Boards I have noticed a real gap in entrepreneurship training. That's where "Mastering the Board Room" comes in. Your Non-Execs maybe know what they are doing, your investor Director may know what they are doing, do you? Find out in less than 90 minutes. Small investment, enormous return. https://lnkd.in/eYG_-UbH #NED #Founder #Director #Fundraising #VC #AI #Spinout

Before diving into these elements, it’s crucial to have a basic understanding of what the company is about: its core purpose, the industry it operates in, its target audience, and the goals it aspires to achieve. The core purpose of the company will be the underlying principle that drives all actions and decisions. The industry and target audience will determine the competitive landscape and potential market size, while the goals will outline what the company hopes to achieve in the short term and long term. The vision statement encapsulates the long-term aspiration of the company. It serves as a guiding star, offering a vivid, aspirational image of the future that the company aims to create. Crafting a compelling vision statement involves thinking big and long-term. It requires considering where you want the company to be in 5, 10, or even 20 years. The vision should be inspiring and aligned with the core values of the company. It should be a rallying cry that motivates employees and is compel-ling to stakeholders. To establish a vision, bring together a diverse group of thinkers from within your organization, from executives to frontline employees, and even external stakeholders, to brainstorm and fine-tune the vision statement. On the other hand, the mission statement is more grounded and focuses on the present. It answers the question, “What do we do?” and outlines the core objectives and activities that the company is currently engaged in to achieve its vision. The mission statement provides a framework for strategic planning and day-to-day operations. Crafting a mission statement involves breaking down the vision into achievable parts and specifying the unique value proposition the company offers to its customers. The mission is not just a statement but a commitment to deliver specific results that move the company closer to its vision. https://lnkd.in/edKg9qWB #entrepreneurship #americandreams #startupbusiness #nonprofit #businessgrant
