A lovely review to finish a busy and successful week on ❤️🙏 Well done Lucy Dodgson. If you're looking to hire great B2B tech content marketers and writers, you know where to come. 📞 'I recently had the pleasure of working with Market Recruitment in securing my new job, and I can't recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, their professionalism, expertise, and dedication were evident in every interaction. The first thing that struck me was their personalised approach. Unlike some other recruitment agencies I've dealt with in the past. Lucy took the time to truly understand my skills, experience, and career aspirations. She didn't just try to fit me into any available position; instead, she listened and only put me forward for roles that were a perfect match. Lucy kept me informed at every stage of the process, providing regular updates and feedback from potential employers. This transparency gave me confidence and reassurance throughout what can often be a stressful time. Ultimately, Market Recruitment played a pivotal role in helping me secure my new job, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Their dedication, personalised approach, and professionalism set them apart from other recruitment agencies, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone seeking employment opportunities.' #testimonial #happycustomer #recruitment #b2bmarketing

Good morning LinkedIn! So, just to be clear: are we also talking about #recruiters and #headhunters who spam automated messages that are completely unrelated to your expertise and/or who suddenly ignore you and never respond after asking for all sorts of personal information, starting with a full #CV from kindergarten(*)? (*)oh, sure: the CV should not be too long because "nobody wants to read books" ("hew! how boring...!"), but not too short because it should represent your 10+ years of experience ("10 years and 1 page?! You only made coffee the whole time?!"); comprehensive, but extremely specific; professional, but also personal; clean and B/W, but also very colourful; fully ATS-compatible, but designed for humans; ... (Ultimately, you are hiring a senior copywriter and a full stack marketer, who won't be able to say a word about the company's marketing strategy anyway if that's not the actual role you'll be filling) Dear non-toxic recruiters/headhunters (and I know you exist because I know you and have had a good experience with some of you), could you say a few words about your less professional colleagues and practices, besides always blaming and pointing fingers at the candidates, their CVs and every single possible characteristic for the currently crazy market status - knowing that they are already in a weaker position? Thanks

4 months of unemployment. 100+ applications. 2 phone interviews. 1 video interview. 8 denial emails. The feeling of defeat has been heavy on my mind these last few months. As many know, the job market is extremely competitive, making it difficult to secure a job - especially for those with minimal experience in their desired field. After graduating college in 2021, I secured a job as a Social Media Advisor. Later in 2023, I was promoted to Senior Social Media Advisor. I felt lucky to be able to work for a Fortune 500 company with a fantastic team. I knew when joining that it would not be my forever job, but I did not think it'd be this difficult to find a new position with such a wide variety of skills and years of experience under my belt. A few examples: • Brand Awareness • Case Management • Community Engagement • Content Writing • Copywriting • Customer Service • Team Management Though I received yet another denial email yesterday after two rounds of interviews, I keep telling myself over and over, "rejection is not failure". That being said, I will continue to apply, continue to network, and continue to hold my head up high. If you know of any positions that match my qualifications, I'd love to learn more about them. My inbox is always open! #unemployed #opentowork #jobsearch #jobseeker #hire #hireme #gethired #remotework #workfromhome #marketingjobs #recruitment #copywriting #contentwriting #communityengagement #socialmedia

Bridging the gap in the market. As someone who has been both an entrepreneur for 13+ years while also working corporate jobs, I’m now having a hard time getting back into the corporate world for reasons unknown. I’ve tweaked my resume 50+ times. I’ve had support while in the interview process for many roles. I’ve even been mentored by career coaches, resume writers, and HR exports. Yet I’m still in a limbo, like many others on the job search. What are we to do when the light at the end of the tunnel is almost invisible? My outreach emails are being read but not acknowledged. My follow up are being read but ultimately ignored. Who is willing to give an eager soul a chance? I’ve made well over $300k as a content creator without management or support. I’ve also helped other creators secure over $750k in partnerships without any guidance of how to read contracts, negotiate, and pitch to major corporations. I’ve managed a small team of 4. But I’ve also coached groups of 25 students at a time, multiple times. I’ve launched campaigns for companies like Dove Kroger Publix Super Markets and countless others. At this point, I’m willing to accept entry level positions to prove my abilities within the industry. SOMEONE HELP! #marketing #marketingcampaign #searchingjob

Recruiters, HR, Talent Acquisition folks: DON'T BE LAZY. Yeah that's harsh, but for real, a question: Before you post a job here on LinkedIn (or anywhere else for that matter), why not perform a quick hashtag search for the title of the role? I guarantee your results feed will be flooded with posts from AWESOME, QUALIFIED (and probably desperate) candidates IN YOUR NETWORK. Many of us are in dire need of work. We are swallowing our pride and being vulnerable right here on LinkedIn. We are sharing our stories of desperation. We write posts about needing work so badly we can’t afford healthcare or food. We’re talented, experienced, educated, available, and EAGER! Give us a chance. Give us some hope. Send us a message FFS! We certainly aren’t lazy when we apply for jobs. We spend 50+ hours a week in the trenches of all the job hunting activities. Searching, refining our resume and cover letter, applying, emailing, following up, messaging connections, waiting, praying, crying, screaming. YOU have the power to give us a chance before thousands of other people apply (some of whom might not even need a new job right now) and we get lost in the AI scan shuffle or completely ignored. Speaking of being ignored, if you work for a company that is hiring and someone in your network sends you a message about the job, please reply. Jesus, you can't be that busy or important. Shit, even if you are (or think you are), take 11 seconds to simply say that instead of leaving us hanging. 🙄 But if two of the busiest people known to LinkedIn Jason Feifer and Mat Ishbia have 43 seconds to reply to little 'ole me, I'm sure you do, too. #copywriter #creativedirector #writer #marketing #advertising #desperateforwork #inappropriatecopywriter #zerofcks And #detroitlions ... because Go Lions 🦁 And a pic, cause pics = clicks.

Monday for Job Seekers As a resume writer and digital marketer, I've seen many professionals navigate the ups and downs of their careers. Here's a hard truth: 💯💯Your job won't last forever. 💪💪But that's not a threat; it's an opportunity. I remember Sarah, who thought her 10-year tenure made her secure. Until layoffs happened. Or Ryan, who believed his skills were indispensable. Until automation took over. Don't wait until it's too late. Future-proof your career: 🎯Upskill and reskill 🎯Build a personal brand 🎯Network strategically 🎯Diversify your income streams You are more than your job. Invest in yourself💯💯 As a resume writer, I help you showcase your strengths. As a digital marketer, I empower you to build a lasting online presence🤝🤝 Let's prepare for the unexpected together. #CareerSecurity #FutureProof #JobSearch #PersonalBranding #DigitalMarketing #ResumeWriter #MondayMotivation #Talenthunts

I’m going to stop hiring based on resumes, and this is a hiring mistake all business owners need to be aware of. Recently, we’ve been trying to hire a social media manager. We’ve hired 4 people after shortlisting 150+ candidates, and none of those 4 worked out for this position last year and we’ve been struggling to find the perfect fit. We’ve gotten 700+ applications, standout resumes and taken stellar interviews. But, it felt like the universe was giving us signals. I came across this podcast recently where I heard - “Don’t hire that marketing specialist with an impressive resume. Go find that teenager who scaled his/her IG page from 0 → 10k and hire him/her.” And this is when I realized the truth behind these words. I need to find someone who’s created something of their own. Someone who has managed to scale their brand. Immediately, I instructed my HR to halt the application process and do some outbound instead. Reach out to those people in our niche who’ve managed to grow their accounts and ask if they’ll be interested in a part time collaboration. I was ready to pay how much ever they want for the right talent. You see, it doesn't matter how impressive someone's resume is, or how many years of experience they have. When it comes to scaling brands, social media accounts - never hire people who haven’t managed to grow their own. Would you hire a personal trainer who is not fit? Would you hire a language tutor who’s not proficient in the language? Same rules apply. Agree? #socialmedia #marketing #hiring #entrepreneurship #founder

Great initiative, Mike! Helping others stand out in a competitive job market is crucial. Custom GPTs can indeed transform how we present our professional stories, making them more engaging and memorable. The idea of using NotebookLM for podcast-style summaries is innovative and can give hiring teams deeper insights into candidates. I completely agree that professional communities and alumni networks can enhance our job search efforts and provide valuable connections. Leveraging LinkedIn for meaningful connections rather than just as a job board is a game-changer for building relationships. What unique strategies have you found effective in sharing your professional story? #JobSeekerSupport #ProfessionalNetworking #InnovativeHiring
I did something different this week. I have a lot of friends and former colleagues on the hunt in one of the toughest markets we've ever seen for job seekers, so I decided to put something together to **hopefully** help some of you stand out and get a few more conversations moving. 🍿 How to set up a custom GPT to help tell your professional story and give hiring teams a chance to step away from the standard one-page cover letter and one-page resume without taking up any more of their time. 🌯 How to set up a NotebookLM with content that will produce a great podcast-style audio summary of your career to help hiring managers understand how the pieces fit together. 🍨 Why professional communities and alumni Slack workspaces are worth your time and why it's important to balance value in to value out. 🍕 How to use Linkedin to make connections and add value, instead of trying to use it to bypass the process. I'll drop the links to the video tutorials in the comments. P.S. IDK why I used food emojis but I'm really sick of seeing all of the rockets, and numbers, and generic emojis get all of the glory on here. #hiring #jobseeking #productthinking #leadership #ai

Hello Network! I’d like to share some experiences I’ve had recently during recruitment processes: ➡ No Follow-Up After Completing the Process I received an email inviting me to a quick interview, followed by a 2-hour test, and then a second interview with two managers. Unfortunately, I never received any feedback or updates about the outcome. ➡ Delayed Responses and Communication Issues I scheduled an interview for a specific date and time, but the call came half an hour late. The link to complete the test was incorrect, so I immediately replied requesting the correct one. However, I didn’t receive a response until two days later. After completing the test, I received an email the next day stating the position had been closed. Strangely, a few days later, I received another email from the recruiter asking if I had completed the test. ➡ Unclear Data Handling and Requests For another position, I was asked to create and submit an introductory video to move forward in the process. While I understand the value of such steps, I suggested scheduling a video call instead, as I had concerns about where and how this recorded information would be stored. ➡ Poor User Experience in Job Applications One recurring frustration: being asked to upload my CV only to manually fill out the same information again. A small detail, but one that reflects poorly on the candidate experience. 😲 I understand we’re nearing the end of the year, and many of us may feel a little drained. 😓 However, let’s strive to avoid ghosting candidates who are genuinely seeking opportunities. A little courtesy and clarity go a long way in creating a respectful recruitment process. On that note, I’m actively looking for a new role where I can bring value and grow professionally. 😊 If you know of any opportunities or companies looking for motivated talent, I’d love to connect! #opentowork #ireland #remoto #hybrid #copywriter #contentspecialist #communicationsofficer #marketingassistant #editor
