An awful lot of reasons for the significant drop in wine consumption per capita but will anyone from the wine industry look at this and realize that something needs to change? It’s not that people around the world aren’t consuming alcohol, it is almost nothing is being done to promote wine. Watch any sporting event and you will bound to see at least beer commercials. Thumb through any upscale magazine and you’ll see advertisements for different kinds of spirits. You almost never see anything for wine. Most of the beer companies and spirits manufacturers have huge revenues. Buy almost any beer or spirits bottle today and again in 5 years and it will always taste the same but high quality wine not so. Clear and deliberate action is needed by the wine industry!
