This makes it seem like wine consumption has decreased but realitynis that volume and value have increased worldwide. Also, Asia and África continue to be the frontier markets for alcohol and wine will be on the rise soon. Us brewers need to be on the look for huge changes in the need future. From supply chain to health consciousness and wellbeing, alcoholic beverages will require an evolution towards the 22nd century. It’s never too soon.

France's sparkling wine imports and Prosecco's rising market share. In 2022, Prosecco accounted for 50% of volume (and 56% of value) of all sparkling wine imported into France -- mostly at the expense of Lambrusco and Asti Spumante.

Alcoholic Beverage Market Shares in the U.S. from 1999-2023. Spirits' share has grown from 28% (1999) to 42% (2023), mostly at the expense of beer. Spirits passed beer to become the new #1 in 2022. Wine's market share has been more or less steady.
