Again a very inspiring session this year Although it's impossible to summarize the entire #mwc24 fair, I wanted to share my key takeaways. 🤘One of the highlights was the strong interest 🚀🚀in WAVE-by AGC solutions, which perfectly match to the needs of users and mobile operators. #Wavethru, our innovative technology, allows seamless mobile network access at both high and low frequencies inside buildings (#5G #gps #tetra and #5Gmmwaves). #glassantennas enable the deployment of invisible and easily accessible networks (WiFi and 5G) both indoors and outdoors. #Wavetrap glass provides protection against radio waves for privacy and health reasons. All these products are supported by our comprehensive #network #audit service. 🚀I'm thrilled to mention that Wavethru technology was also showcased at the #qualcomm booth, where they demonstrated its potential for Fixed Wireless Access (#FWA) to enhance 5G mmwave reception. 🧠Among the other trends observed, it comes as no surprise that AI has permeated every level of the telecommunications value chain, from telcos to end-users. #AI is being utilized to optimize network design, automatically reconfigure networks, and ensure a consistently high level of service. 📏Network audit tools and performance platforms are now focusing on mapping #5G performance (#latency, speed, strength) and #WiFi6 networks simultaneously within buildings, providing a clear overview of available network performance and associated applications. There is also a growing interest in 5G mmwaves and associated technologies like #RIS (Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces) and small cell antennas to expand coverage in future cities. Once again, #AGC's solutions are well-positioned to support this strategy. 🪴From a sustainability standpoint, I would like to highlight the initiative launched by #GSMA Intelligence to align operators in reporting the environmental impact of telco infrastructure. Looking Back at the Show of the Future: Reflections on #mwc24 The week I took off after the #mwc24 show in Barcelona was sufficient for the excitement to subside and reflections to form – I’m keen on sharing some here. The first one: it’s amazing how the event has evolved since I first attended, then still in Cannes: its mobile technology focus shifted significantly to ecosystem play, societal aspects and clearly, business, which is reflected in #GSMA statistics: of the more than 101,000 unique attendees, over 59% came from industries adjacent to the mobile core ecosystem. Which brings me back to a point I raised before – the relevance of #telcos in today’s world is not reflected in their financial outlook (if only telcos could retain their consumer revenues while growing the B2B part to over 50% …). In terms of trends and hype, the initial promise of #5g gave way to a more somber reality, while #ai was everywhere (heyday for marketers and their slogan creativity). All the impressive demos showcased how AI can help improve user experience and generate incremental revenues, simplify operations, reduce costs, make networks more resilient and easier to run, how it is permeating every aspect of business and our lives to enhance it. Yet, those were demos based on curated data sets (if any) and limited (if any) integration with other essential systems. Given that data is the foundation of #GenAI, and typically, integration work reflects the mounting #techdebt , significant effort will be required to drive commercial adoption of all those use cases. Personally, I am curious to see which of them will ‘make it’ when #mwc25 opens its doors – maybe a suboptimal question at a show renown for its focus on future rather than checkpoints. Initiatives such as Global Telco AI Alliance (#GTAA) will certainly have a positive impact. So will the relentless efforts by experts across multiple disciplines. Which makes me proud that we at Singtel, NCS Group and #telcoplus keep working hard on paving the way for #AI to evolve from hype to productive reality.

I had the pleasure of attending the AVIXA and IABM UpStream event in Dubai this morning along with Rishab Narayanan. The event perfectly coincides with CABSAT and Integrate Middle East happening currently in Dubai as it's clearly focused on capturing, storing, streaming, and distributing broadcast-quality content, bringing together broadcast technology suppliers, AV/IT solution providers, and enterprise buyers. One of the highlights was on the development of a 'Corporate Media Centre'. The concept is designed to support live audience events, virtual events, press conferences, live streaming, social media recording, and podcasting. It's a hybrid communication, media production, and networking platform that meets high industry standards and emphasizes flexibility. The topic brought to my mind a recent project, that Granteq completed —a state-of-the-art corporate studio for a global pharmaceutical company. The studio features a green screen, advanced app-controlled lighting, a teleprompter with a 4K camera, a production-quality switcher, and top-notch audio equipment. Despite its compact size, it enables the creation of high-quality corporate content, from CEO messages to training videos. The key takeaway from today's event is the merging lines of broadcast and PRO AV systems. High-end studios aren't exclusive to media organizations; they're becoming essential for various industries.
