The Ready to Drink cocktail category has continued to grow over recent years and is showing so signs of slowing. N/A cocktails are rapidly gaining share, and the latest entrants have been soft drinks - either through partnerships, or simply being ‘spiked’. This can be a dangerous space to play, and one that should be handled carefully. Read our latest Sister Mary Reflection for some tips on how to do it successfully, and responsibly. #branddevotion #brandlove #powerofart #beautyofideas #packagingdesign #branddesign #packagingstrategy https://lnkd.in/eWHVvUKF

Creating a No & Low section on your drinks menu should be as thrilling as crafting full ABV cocktails. These beverages should focus on complexity and flavour, providing an exceptional experience for everyone, regardless of their reasons for abstaining from alcohol—be it personal, religious, or health-related. It's essential to recognise that offering a drink filled with juices, purees, and syrups is not a true alternative to alcohol. Health-conscious patrons deserve better, and as a business, you miss out on revenue when they opt for a simple soft drink that lasts all evening, leaving them with a boring, unmemorable experience. The beauty of the No & Low category is that it doesn't require much effort to create an exciting experience. Think of a refreshing low-alcohol gin and tonic or a functional spirit mixer. With the wide range of No & Low products available, you can offer innovative alternatives that cater to diverse preferences. Remember, this category is growing year on year. While it may not overtake alcoholic sales, providing these options is crucial for gaining repeat customers and, most importantly, ensuring inclusivity in social settings. Socializing should be inclusive, and so should your drinks menu. Cheers to offering an elevated, inclusive drinking experience for everyone! 🍸🥂 #NoAndLow #InclusiveDrinking #BarInnovation #CustomerExperience #DrinkResponsibly

𝙍𝙏𝘿 𝙘𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙨, 𝙧𝙪𝙢, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙖 𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩: 😎 Ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails, rum and tequila are set to dominate the spirits market, according to new research. A survey of founders of UK independent beverage companies, by rum brand The Duppy Share in collaboration with CGA by NIQ, showed RTD cocktails, in particular, have garnered attention, with 52% of respondents forecasting “fast growth”, the largest across all formats. In terms of spirits, rum and tequila are the only categories that experienced growth in 2023 and are forecast to continue their upward trajectory, according to the companies surveyed, particularly as consumer interest shifts away from gin, which experienced a 14% decrease in sales last year. However, mirroring the trend seen in the US, agave spirits continue to gain momentum. This category saw a 4% increase in sales in 2023. Looking ahead, agave spirits are expected to maintain a steady growth trajectory, with a projected annual growth rate of 2% from 2023 to 2028. This is reflected in rum, showing a 2% growth in 2023, and forecasting a steady growth in the coming years from its larger base volume. Taste remains overwhelmingly the most important attribute that US consumers seek when choosing an alcoholic drink, our latest annual Bloomberg Intelligence survey confirms. This is followed by price, alcohol content and brand, which indicates that imbibers seek taste experimentation and welcoming quirky producer launches of new and different RTD cocktails such as Straightaway Cocktails' Bees Knees and Nitro Espresso Martini canned cocktails. Respondents cited drink portability again as a less important attribute, likely due to more normal access to restaurants since the restrictions of the pandemic. For an deeper review of other key findings, implications, and who may be the most affected by current trends, Bloomberg Professional subscribers can read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/evhGFPpN #bloombergintelligence

The last year has seen more polarisation between those seeking premium (high-quality cocktails made with top-shelf ingredients) and value (affordable cocktails that provide a satisfactory taste at a low cost) cocktails in Britain. The number in the middle ground (those who choose both) has fallen by 10 percentage points since early 2023, emphasising the importance of having a wide range of cocktail options available, both in terms of the spirits, flavour profiles and ingredients included, and in their range of pricing. Are your mixed drink strategies optimised for a hyper-competitive, complex and polarised landscape? I’m comin’ in hot with the value this morning! Here’s what you ✨need✨ to know about the mixer market if you’re in hospitality and beverages 👇 💰The global mixers market is predicted to DOUBLE by 2030. → And you know how we feel about doubling down on the fun. 🍹 The Gin boom that drove a surge in Tonic purchases is plateauing. → BUT, tequila is on the rise and really, most spirits taste delicious with tonic or a flavoured mixer! 📉 Mixer sales in the UK have dropped overall (CGA). → BUT, premium mixers are on the rise, taking up 62% of the market. 🍾 1/3 of people are going out and drinking less (Rekom UK). → BUT, when they do, they’re ready to spend more on premium experiences. 🧪 Innovation and flavour is king. → BUT, consumers still want options that don’t compromise with a tonne of added sugar and calories. Here’s what I believe that means for hospitality owners; - Provide premium experiences. - Have premium non-alc drinks options available for customers to trade up. - Provide Tequila and Rum cocktails alongside Gin ones as well as Spritz serves. - Include any stories on ingredients or sustainability where relevant on the menus. Monday reminder: the better the drinks, the longer the party 😉 #Mixers #BeverageIndustry #Hospitality

Is Going Out for an Alcoholic Beer or Wine Still the Future? 🥂 Last night, I discovered some nice alcohol-free gin, martini, negroni, mojito, and aperol options on a restaurant menu. It’s still hard to find so many options out there, but the market is developing as consumers looking for innovative and fancy type of drinks instead of the typical soft drinks. This $300M market is growing by 9.1% annually until 2030—why? Because health-conscious consumers are choosing better sleep, mental clarity, fewer calories, and more. 🚀 Health and longevity are the future for obvious reasons. Have you tried these types of non-alcoholic spirits already? What are your favorites? 👇 #NonAlcoholic #FutureOfDrinking #BeverageIndustry #MindfulDrinking
