Finding Balance as a Freelance Podcast Creator 🌊🎙️ As freelancers, we step into the world of independence with excitement and purpose. The freedom to design our schedules, choose our projects, and work from anywhere, whether it’s a cozy home office or a sunny beach 🏖️, is unmatched. But along with that freedom comes the need for balance, especially when you’re in the business of creating and editing podcasts. I’ve learned that freelancing, much like podcasting itself, is all about rhythm 🎧. Deadlines, client meetings, and creative work often compete with personal time, health, and relaxation. Without balance, the very freedom we cherish can start to feel like a burden. Here’s what’s worked for me: ✨ Set Boundaries: It’s tempting to respond to emails at 10 PM or squeeze in “just one more” edit before bed, but creating firm work hours is key. 🌿 Prioritize Well-Being: I make time for snorkeling, freediving, or simply watching the waves 🌊. Those moments of peace recharge me for the next round of edits. ⚙️ Streamline Processes: Whether it’s a template for client communication or a tool that automates editing workflows, efficiency creates space for what matters most. 🎉 Celebrate Wins: Completing a client’s podcast episode isn’t just a task—it’s a milestone in their journey, and in mine. Freelancing isn’t just about work; it’s about the lifestyle it enables 🌎. I’ve found immense joy in helping podcasters bring their visions to life while enjoying the tranquility of my own. To all my fellow freelancers and podcast creators: How do you find your balance? I’d love to hear your tips or stories in the comments! 💬 #FreelanceLife #PodcastProduction #WorkLifeBalance #TranquiloEditing #RemoteWork 🏝️ LauerNathan.com

Make a list! This was the biggest thing that helped me when I first started freelancing and continue doing to this day. I made a list of all the things I needed to do and then I put them in order of importance. At the top of the list were the immediate things that needed to be done and at the bottom of the list were things that needed to be done but weren’t urgent (i.e updating my portfolio, getting client reviews, etc). Prioritising is the best advice I can give you, so you don’t feel like you have to do everything right now, all at once! This will help with fatigue, burn out, anxiety and overwhelm. And most importantly, make sure there is ‘you’ time on that to-do list! Love, Kat x ___________________ Hello! We are Kat & Francesca, hosts and producers of Not the 9 to 5 Podcast. There were lots of them!! No, I am not talking about fireworks this weekend (although there was quite a few) I am talking about Women I have interviewed over the last few years talking about their career journeys. New one is out tomorrow. However, I hadn't been interviewed myself until Steve Folland from Being Freelance chose me for his freelance podcast. You can listen to it here: https://lnkd.in/eav8mFz9 It was a nerve-racking experience (nothing that Steve did, of course, just me) but I ended up having a great time and I am still getting messages from people who tell me they have loved the episode, how it has cheered them up and how they can relate to things I had said but never said themselves. But the thing is, I have got the bug now and would love to appear on other podcasts, so if you would like a guest that can talk about 🎙 Being a Virtual & Social Media Assistant 🎙 Anything social media related, including batch-creating tips and content-creating tips. 🎙 Starting a successful business at 44 with/from nothing 🎙 Having/running a business with a chronic illness/pain 🎙 Virtual assistance-related content - think productivity and efficiency, software tips etc 🎙 Getting out there and networking when you have anxiety 🎙 Never giving up Or anything else you would like because, to be honest, I am pretty much an open book. So are you interested in what I can bring? Then send me a DM because I am very much interested in appearing on your podcast. PS I also would really appreciate it if you could repost this so more potential podcast owners might see it. 🙏 Thank you

Happy Monday everyone! Over here on Not The 9 to 5 podcast, we have just come to the end of our second series and I wanted to share some things I’ve learnt from the guests we’ve had on: 1. Always believe in yourself (even when no one else does). 2. Charge for every minute you work. 3. Make sure there’s a contract, agreement or email in place outlining fees, deadlines and expectations for EVERY single project you work on. 4. Self-love is the best way to keep going in this crazy freelance life. 5. Be in the now and present with every moment. 6. Cultivate a work/life balance - what’s the point of being freelance if you don’t have freedom over your life? 7. Keep true to your intentions for every piece of work you do. 8. Live the life YOU want to live, not what other people want for you. 9. Never stop learning and expanding your skill set. 10. If you don’t try, you’ll never know, so why not try it? Reflecting back on series 2, it’s made me so grateful to share a freelance community with so many wonderful people who are so willing to share their experiences to help other freelancers or potential freelancers, in order to live out their best life! Freelancing is not at all freedom and glitz. (90% people doing with wrong idea). The cons are often not spoken about. I know freelancers who: → Balance multiple gigs → Volunteer their skills → Have their podcast → Seek advice from others And they usually struggle with: → Making a meaningful impact → Building a personal brand → Multiple clients' demands → Having time for family My best advice to you: → Be creative → Take time to reflect → Focus on the big picture → Prioritize your family any day. Make sure that ideas come to your mind: Get heard, loved, and successfully executed. P.S. You a freelancer? What has been biggest hustle for you?

Start Where You Are, Do What You Can, Use What You Have In the fast-paced world of podcasting and freelancing, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the tools, skills, and resources we think we need. But sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is simply start with what we have right now. "Start where you are, do what you can, use what you have." – This quote resonates deeply with me. It reminds me that progress and success aren't about having the perfect setup or all the answers from the get-go. It's about taking that first step, making the most of our current resources, and consistently putting in the effort. When I started my podcasting journey 6 years ago, I didn't have a fancy studio or the best equipment. Till now I am exploring on my own. What I had was passion, a microphone, and a desktop. Through dedication and continuous learning, I've grown and refined my craft. Every episode, every edit, every interview was a step forward. To all my fellow creatives and freelancers: don't wait for the perfect moment. Start now. Use what you have and do what you can. Your journey and experiences will shape your success. Let's keep pushing forward together! 💪🎙️ #Storytales #contentwriter #MotivationMonday #FreelancerLife #PodcastingJourney #Inspiration #KeepMovingForward
