There's something you need to know about my relationships. Your success as a copywriter largely depends upon the quality of your relationships. Now, I'm not referring to the kind you might have thought when you read the first line. lol I'm referring to your relationships with people who might hire you in the future. You see, the #1 thing you need to enter the big leagues as a copywriter is not... Cold emailing Fiverr/Upwork Or job boards It's referrals and relationships you have in the industry. If people know, like, and trust you... they'll refer you to someone they know or reach out to you for their projects. So, while it's important to have a steady inflow of clients from cold emails, freelance platforms and job boards... You must never ignore the power of the relationships and friendships you build in the industry. Because after all, we're humans and we like to socialize, interact, and get to know other people. Which leads to relationships... Which results in work-related opportunities. I take it as a long-term thing. So, I'm cultivating these relations and planting the seeds for tomorrow. The goal is not to expect something. Not to ask for something. Just talk to them, share ideas, and support them through things... like friends do. Samjhay?

Two clients I'm working with this year came in ready to work with ME. No games, no delays, no negotiations, no looking around. Here's why it happened: 🚀My LinkedIn profile & content. Period. I've been consistently showing up, keeping my brand and ideal prospects in mind, creating content that shows and tells what it's like to work with me. My content nurtured both clients for at least a year. Then, when they had a project and the right budget, they reached out. One of them was at another company and didn't have the budget to bring me in. But we stayed connected, and she kept seeing my posts. When she switched jobs and wanted to work with a content consultant, she brought me in. The other client saw my LinkedIn profile and knew I'd be a great fit. They followed my content for at least a year before they were ready with a project. These prospects already knew the kind of work I specialize in. Wanna know how I learned Upwork Bidding? Here is my story... I have been much active on LinkedIn for years I researched and optimized my profile myself... I applied on different jobs related with my field content writing and copywriting..... Once I applied on a job and sent my details There was a form to be filled It had some critical thinking questions I sent it... After few days, I received an email that I had been shortlisted for interview But I needed to send them an intro video I failed to do so due to some reasons, They sent me email again for the video At last, I sent it Now I was there for interview Unfortunately, I had internet issues that day☹ However, the interviewer had patient and took my interview I was selected They asked me to take a few days training I didn't know what's that about There were 60+ candidates in first online session I got a feeling "Something big is going to happen" Within few days, we were working on Upwork Nothing just researching and researching and researching Then after few days, we started writing proposals not for sending but for Practice Do you know how many proposals per day? 25 proposals per day, The first day it took 10 hours to write and just practice then the time period started reducing Note that many candidates went away due to this tough time Then the practical work started Meanwhile we had online sessions on daily basis going on for hours I gave it a time because I wanted to learn that Atlast, only few members left in our team We worked together for few months Then the agency decided to quit We all left on our own paths But I had this skill due to 2 people Usama Abrar Adnan Siddique I don't know where they are now But I want to thank them because of them, I learned with what I am earning my livelihood After that, I didn't stop and worked for LinkedIn Right now I am working as an Upwork bidder and LinkedIn outreach person . . . *Crickets* That's what I heard when I - started pitching on Upwork in 2015 - took Facebook seriously in 2023. - hopped onto LinkedIn in 2024. The lack of results might be discouraging at first, but you'll hit one milestone after another if you continue to show up and offer value. Like how I've crossed $90,000 on Upwork as a freelance writer, and maintained a 100% job success score for 8 years. Or a FB post that went viral because I chose to openly share the mistakes I made that doomed my business. It takes time to build a business, social presence, search visibility, or anything worthwhile. Scaling without a strong foundation only leads to an inevitable downfall. So, let's continue to - connect with the right intention. - be genuine when creating content. - give more than we receive. Because that's how I want my LinkedIn tribe to be. 🤗
