Instructional design is an essential stage of the digital learning process. So what's it all about? 🗒 Planning out the learning experience of your users. 📢 Identifying the right tone and voice for the audience. 🖊 Writing and honing the content to the key objectives. 🗺 Mapping out a learning journey, designed to engage and motivate users. 🎬 Exploring different mediums of delivery to suit the content and audience needs. Dropping in pre-made PowerPoint content to a rapid elearning development tool might seem like a quick solution, but it's never the answer! Yes, you would have created a course - But does it create the desired effect in teaching and empowering your learners? Are you seeing the right impact in your organisation from the online training you have created? Time and time again, we still this essential phase missed in digital learning development. But don't stress! If this is something you are looking to enhance for your own in-house projects, come speak to Eggu for support. Did you know that we offer instructional design as a stand-alone service, as well as part of our complete bespoke digital learning design approach? We'll work in partnership with your design and development team to help take your digital learning to the next level, and create the user experience and impact you deserve! #instructionaldesign #digitallearning #elearning

Here's a message from our President, Amanda Douglas-Young, about the eClarity Learning Design System and the story of its creation.
CEO and Co-Founder at eClarity and KnowledgeNow, designing the best learning experiences for everyone, powered by the eClarity Learning Design System
A huge pain point for me as an Instructional Designer was that I could never find a single solution that REALLY fit my needs when designing content. I found a TON of authorware and LMS solutions, but never for the actual design work. I have tried all the project management tools, used all the spreadsheets, word documents, brainstorming apps, many different file management systems, and created so many templates. But things got lost, re-made, and forgotten. Not to mention the huge learning curve for our clients every time we started a new build. I created eClarity in part to meet that exact need, knowing that if I wanted to run a successful busines, I needed an all in one solution that my entire team can use. 4 years, dozens of clients, and hundreds of courses later, we are often asked about the processes we use to hit our deadlines and create accessible courses that surpass industry standards. My hope is that eClarity changes the way we manage eLearning projects, and gives designers the space to create incredible content every single time. https://lnkd.in/eXcF9v_G

🎓 Did you know that as an art history professor, I’m also an instructional designer and eLearning developer? 🎨 For the past 15 years, I’ve been transforming complex concepts in art history into engaging, accessible learning experiences—both in the classroom and online. Here’s how: 🔹 Curriculum Design: I design courses with clear, measurable learning objectives, ensuring each lesson builds toward a deeper understanding of art and its historical context. From creating syllabi to planning assessments, I’m focused on aligning content with meaningful learning outcomes. 🔹 Engaging Content Creation: Whether it’s developing visually engaging PowerPoint presentations, writing lecture notes, or creating interactive group activities, I strive to make learning stimulating and relevant for students. 🔹 eLearning Development: I’ve developed courses for asynchronous online formats, leveraging tools like learning management systems (LMS) and multimedia resources to bring art history to life in the digital space. 🔹 Active Learning: I emphasize problem-based and critical thinking activities, encouraging students to actively engage with materials through discussions, case studies, and projects (like my recent Deity Detective activity). 🔹 Assessment & Feedback: Just like an instructional designer, I create quizzes, essays, and other assessments that are aligned with learning objectives, ensuring students can demonstrate their understanding in meaningful ways. As a professor, instructional designer, and eLearning developer, I am passionate about shaping educational experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in every learner. 🎓💡 #InstructionalDesign #HigherEd #eLearning #ArtHistory #ActiveLearning #CurriculumDesign #EdTech #OnlineLearning #LearningExperienceDesign

🎯 Instructional design project kick-off questions❓ If you could ask only 5 questions from a future client or manager at the beginning of a digital learning project, what would you inquire about? It's difficult to define what exactly the service or the deliverable is going to be when we embark on the journey of building online learning programmes. There are a lot of amazing creative decisions along the way, but there are also plenty of variables in terms of outcomes, costs, goals, stakeholders and so on. Even though the actual (design, development) work is going to be done at a later stage, defining the main aspects as early as possible is crucial for success. Would you rather focus on the technical details such as the authoring tool(s) and media format? Or would you mainly channel your attention towards the learners and the goals of the learning experience? To make the situation easier, let's use this request as a starting point: "We are looking to develop a comprehensive digital learning course focusing on health and safety within our organisation. The course should cover essential aspects without getting too specific, ensuring it is accessible and relevant to a broad audience. We're open to creative approaches that engage learners while meeting regulatory requirements." #instructionaldesign #projectmanagement #digitallearning #learninganddevelopment #learninganddevelopment #learningexperiencedesign #learningmanagementsystem #digitalplatform

🌟 Sharpening my instructional design expertise with a deep dive into theory application! 📚💼 I just wrapped up the "Instructional Design for eLearning" course on Udemy, and I'm thrilled about infusing my work with these fresh insights. 💡💻 Throughout the course, I immersed myself in a spectrum of theories, each serving as a powerful tool in my instructional design toolkit. Here's a glimpse into how I'll be weaving these theories into my daily practice: 🔍 Drawing from Ruth Clark’s Six Principles of Effective E-Learning courses to craft engaging and impactful learning experiences meticulously. 📊 Applying Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Evaluation as a robust framework to gauge and enhance the effectiveness of my eLearning initiatives. 🎨 Leveraging Ruth Clark’s Visual Design Model to create visually stimulating graphics that captivate learners and enhance comprehension. 💡 Integrating behaviourism, cognitivism, and constructivism principles into my course designs to tailor learning experiences to diverse learner needs. 💪 Implementing John Keller’s ARCS Model of Motivational Design to keep learners inspired and invested throughout their learning journey. 🎯 Crafting terminal and enabling learning objectives using the A-B-C-D format to ensure clarity and alignment with desired outcomes. 🛠️ Ensuring SCORM-compliant content creation through adherence to established guidelines for seamless integration and tracking. 📈 Managing eLearning courses using the IPECC Model and Project Management tools to streamline processes and optimize outcomes efficiently. I am excited to elevate my instructional design game with these newfound theories! 🚀 Let's create impactful learning experiences together! #InstructionalDesign #TheoryApplication #ContinuousLearning #udemycertified #instructionaldesigner
