November is Gratitude Month: Let's Celebrate the CX Change Agents! As we focus on gratitude this month, I'm reminded of the incredible impact that a strong customer experience (CX) can have—not just on our customers, but on our employees and entire organizations. When CX is done well, it truly is a win-win-win. It creates loyal customers, motivated employees, and thriving businesses. But none of this happens without the dedication of CX change agents—those leaders who are passionate about driving meaningful experiences and making our world better, one interaction at a time. To all of you who are out there leading your teams, advocating for better customer journeys, and pushing for excellence in every touchpoint, I want to say thank you. (CX) is the concept that all of the touchpoints between a business and its customers contribute to the customer's overall impression and emotional connection to the business. This connection is a critical factor in driving customer retention and net promoter score improvements over time What: CX day established in 2013 by the Customer Experience Professionals Association (CXPA). It’s a global celebration of the companies and professionals that create great customer experiences. When: The first Tuesday in October. This year was October 1st Why: It’s an ideal time to raise awareness, promote involvement, and express gratitude to those who make customer excellence possible. And it’s an opportunity to show others how committed you are to giving them top-notch service. Who: Everyone in the organization should celebrate this day because each one job impacts the CX in somehow, from frontline to back office, impacts customer experiences and company perception. Your customers have experiences throughout the day—by phone, email, web, IRL, etc. Are those experiences poor? Good? Great? How do you know? Research shows that most experiences are mostly ‘meh’—and in some cases (as in with my recent experiences with American Airlines) they’re downright bad! Companies: Let’s change that.
