🌟 On this #PublicHealthThankYouDay, we honor the public health professionals who keep our communities safe and healthy. As we reflect on their contributions, it's important to recognize the vital role that broadband internet and digital equity play in advancing public health. Affordable, reliable broadband internet enables telehealth services, allowing patients to receive medical care from the comfort of their homes. This is especially crucial for rural and underserved communities, where access to healthcare providers can be limited. And digital equity ensures that everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic status, has the tools and resources needed to manage their health effectively. From accessing health information and scheduling appointments to participating in virtual consultations, digital equity bridges the gap and promotes health equity. Let's continue to support initiatives that expand affordable broadband access and promote digital equity, ensuring everyone benefits from these essential services. And let's continue to support the dedicated public health professionals who work tirelessly to keep us safe and healthy! #PublicHealth #DigitalEquity #BroadbandAccess #Telehealth #HealthEquity #Broadband

Healthy equity means having access to affordable Internet, knowing how to use these tools, and having devices that enable that access. Digital Equity is a social determinant of health. In western Massachusetts, over 70,000 households are at risk of losing their affordable Internet service due to the federal cuts to ACP. the Affordable Connectivity Program #digitalequity #healthequity #affordableInternet #DontdisconnectUS #ExpandACP #AllianceforDigitalEquity Baystate Health
💻🩺 Accessible healthcare is a right, not a privilege. With internet access, devices, and skills, everyone can have their doctor be just a click away. With #ACP ending, millions risk losing access to vital healthcare services. Read more on Marketplace by APM: https://lnkd.in/gH982iNB #telehealth

I had a fantastic time speaking this past weekend in Nashville at the #NCQASummit on the “New Care Delivery Models: The Impact on Quality, Access, and Equity” panel! Here are some highlights: 1️⃣ Primary Care Power: Boosting primary care access leads to healthier, lower total cost of care, and more equitable communities. Actually it’s the only intervention known to produce these three benefits. 2️⃣ The Access Crisis: With 84 million Americans in “primary care deserts,” demand far outstrips supply, especially for primary and behavioral health. Long waits and ER overuse are becoming the norm. How might we think about access differently? Expand Hours for access beyond traditional work hours. Leverage Virtual Care to meet patients where they are. Leave FFS behind to encourage access-friendly async care. 3️⃣ Reimagine primary care/specialty care interactions. Prevent low value speciality care usages by allowing primary care clinicians to do what they do best - care for the whole person. When a specialist’s knowledge is required, leverage vetted virtual partners, and guide patients to high-quality in-person care. How can we continue expanding access to primary care? Share your thoughts!

The healthcare landscape is evolving rapidly, and recent findings from the Rock Health Report underscore the growing satisfaction among consumers with virtual care. Many individuals have gained improved access to healthcare services through these advancements. Among more than 5k patients who used virtual care Rock Health surveyed, the 3 most cited reasons were: greater convenience, shorter wait time and specific care provider. Interestingly also being uncomfortable with in-person care was mentioned by 10% of the responses. It uncovers that virtual care can motivate people to seek more care. Personally, I have used telehealth instead of visits to family doctors. My main reason was convenience and saving the time to travel to the doctor's office. Considering this, I'm interested to know: Do you use virtual care? What are your reasons? #VirtualHealthcare #TeleHealth #Healthcare Source: https://lnkd.in/d-MnsxJP

🏥 Behind the Scenes: Technology Supporting Human-Centred Virtual Ward Care In a recent podcast hosted by Ben Wells, Mark Goodfellow, Julie Kroper and Richard Allman Evitts from Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust shared a powerful perspective on virtual wards - where technology enables care without overshadowing the human connection. 😇 Digital innovation in virtual wards isn't about flooding patients' homes with devices. 📱 It's about empowering healthcare teams with intelligent systems that enhance care delivery: - Smart phone systems enabling efficient triage - Seamless access to patient information - Streamlined referral processes - Virtual MDT consultations across locations This perfectly demonstrates how digital health solutions can strengthen rather than replace the human elements of healthcare - supporting teams to provide better care while keeping patients at the heart of every interaction.
