🏥 Behind the Scenes: Technology Supporting Human-Centred Virtual Ward Care In a recent podcast hosted by Ben Wells, Mark Goodfellow, Julie Kroper and Richard Allman Evitts from Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust shared a powerful perspective on virtual wards - where technology enables care without overshadowing the human connection. 😇 Digital innovation in virtual wards isn't about flooding patients' homes with devices. 📱 It's about empowering healthcare teams with intelligent systems that enhance care delivery: - Smart phone systems enabling efficient triage - Seamless access to patient information - Streamlined referral processes - Virtual MDT consultations across locations This perfectly demonstrates how digital health solutions can strengthen rather than replace the human elements of healthcare - supporting teams to provide better care while keeping patients at the heart of every interaction. 🌟 On this #PublicHealthThankYouDay, we honor the public health professionals who keep our communities safe and healthy. As we reflect on their contributions, it's important to recognize the vital role that broadband internet and digital equity play in advancing public health. Affordable, reliable broadband internet enables telehealth services, allowing patients to receive medical care from the comfort of their homes. This is especially crucial for rural and underserved communities, where access to healthcare providers can be limited. And digital equity ensures that everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic status, has the tools and resources needed to manage their health effectively. From accessing health information and scheduling appointments to participating in virtual consultations, digital equity bridges the gap and promotes health equity. Let's continue to support initiatives that expand affordable broadband access and promote digital equity, ensuring everyone benefits from these essential services. And let's continue to support the dedicated public health professionals who work tirelessly to keep us safe and healthy! #PublicHealth #DigitalEquity #BroadbandAccess #Telehealth #HealthEquity #Broadband

Should health systems continue to provide #Telehealth services after 2024? 🤔 For those of you that may not be aware, the reimbursement for Telehealth services under CMS are set to expire in the end of 2024, unless 🏛️ Congress Acts! At Providence, we provide care to over 1.2 million unique patients per year via our virtual care and digital health services. Lack of continued support for these critical access points in our care delivery system would create complete chaos and negatively impact patient access, clinical quality and #clinician burnout! Tune in tomorrow as I will be testifying (along with esteemed colleague, Lee Schwamm, MD) in front of US Congress to advocate for permanency in reimbursement for Telehealth services. https://lnkd.in/gwnM9yZv Archit Bhatt MD, MPH, FAHA Jessica Schlicher MD, MBA Sherene Schlegel Stacia Fisher, MSW, LICSW Jamie Donnelly, Ph.D. Lisa Roche, CPC, CEMC Jacquelyn Bombard #innovation #telemedicine #AHA #AMA #healthcare #transformation

Hackensack Meridian Health, a health network based in New Jersey, US, is set to roll out HMH 24/7, a new AI-powered solution, designed to integrate virtual and in-person care. Hackensack Meridian Health CEO Robert C. Garrett said: “Our partnership with K Health couldn’t be coming at a better time, as the clear shift in primary care is uncovering the need for hybrid models that seamlessly connect virtual and in-person care across the care continuum. We know patients want virtual care, but understanding how to deliver that in the context of a larger health system is where HMH 24/7 stands us apart.” Click here for the full article - https://lnkd.in/dVfGzPGr #healthcare #aiinhealthcare #virtualcare #patientcare #hospitals

We know there are gaps in specialist coverage, but the latest report on specialist (cardiology) access is remarkable to see the imbalance in resources, and the impact on patient care/health. Telehealth has demonstrated its capabilities to solve such gaps in local access and Equum Medical is driving great initiatives to improve access for rural care.
#Access to Specialist Care for rural communities is a challenge. Without such resources locally, patients can face longer round trips to see specialists which also can have implications for overall patient health (https://lnkd.in/eTc_MMBp ). And hospitals within the community see their patients migrating out of the town to receive care and follow-up. At Equum Medical we recognize the critical need for accessible, high-quality care. From ED Multi-Specialty, to High Acuity and Critical Care services, our 24/7 provider teams flexibly partner to #keepcarelocal. Collaboration and coordination is key to delivering the ‘integrated neighbourhood’ model – but how can the systems we use improve how we provide patient care? The integrated neighbourhood team model imagines a system where patients access a wide range of care services through clear, easy-to-navigate care pathways. By streamlining patient access, we reduce the pressure on services and create more capacity for planned care tailored around local and community needs. Our hub-model of triage helps PCNs to provide patients with a single point of access to care across a whole network, allowing triage decisions to be made centrally while also providing the data needed to inform long-term resource and budget decisions. Want to understand how our digital triage and collaboration hub can enhance collaborative working across your PCN? ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/d7MgPrm #primarycare #NHS #triage #healthtech #digitalhealth #Klinik

An emergency department doctor in a remote hospital sends a virtual consultation request to a specialist at another hospital. Because their systems cannot exchange information, the consultation takes much longer than necessary, taking time away from both clinicians' days that could have been spent with patients ... When a #patientcentric approach to healthcare and data flow is not put in place, the result is fragmented information and poor patient outcomes. Anne Forsyth, Ann Chapman, Shannon Malovec, Michael Tatto, Mauree Aki Matsusaka, Jennifer Cordeiro et al explore how increased access and availability of data across the #healthcaresystem can make an impact and help us progress as a society. #equity #digitalhealth #accesstocare https://lnkd.in/gnEkS-mk
