Crane certification and CDL licensing requirements have become a major concern for ABMA members. Last week, Eric Murphy of East Coast Lumber Building Supply Co. Lumber and Bob Jackman of LaValley Building Supply LLC took action, meeting with U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen to shine a spotlight on these critical workforce challenges. Their efforts underscore the need for industry-specific training that reflects the day-to-day realities of building materials dealers—not high-rise construction or long-haul trucking. We’re proud to see members leading the charge for practical, sensible solutions that strengthen our workforce and keep the supply chain moving.
