As the pitch deck plays a crucial role in attracting investors, we prepared for the founders Mid-Demo Day halfway through the Spring Accelerator 2024. 🚀 During this pitch training session, evaluators provided their expert advice. Representing ZAKA VC team were Ján Kasper, PhD., MBA, PhD., Andrej Petrus, and Natalia Mikusova, while Pašek Peter represented Accace. "Into this batch, we managed to select 36 start-ups from 10 countries. This diversity brought with it a much higher quality of ideas and solutions – something we confirmed during our mid-demo day training. There's still room for start-ups to improve, to work on their pitch decks to capture investor interest. But those we've already seen presenting are on the right track, and of course, we want to continue supporting them further in the program." says Peter. For Mid-Demo Day presentations we selected 8 start-ups to showcase their own pitch decks and receive feedback from advisors. 🗣️ This allowed all founders from the Spring batch to observe various approaches to creating pitch decks and identify elements that potential investors may seek in this document. Special appreciation goes to all the presenting start-ups for their excellent work: 👏 BITERIUM AI 👏 Cerebria Tech 👏 Jusi 👏 Swayme 👏 Pooly 👏 eternity.ac 👏 Flyer's Guard 👏 Progalit #aceon #aceonaccelerator #pitchdeck #training

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺 (𝗧𝗚𝗥)'𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗙 (𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀)! We welcome all founders, funders, and friends of this initiative I launched last year. For anyone who wants to learn more about The Green Room or to get involved, see the summary below, check out pitchtgr dot com, or even better yet, register for the happy hour next week! We'd love to see you there. 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗧𝗚𝗥: TGR is a space I built for founders to practice their pitches in front of select VCs, industry leaders, and fellow founders in a low-stakes/judgment-free environment. The goal is to provide founders with the honest, blunt, often critical feedback they need ahead of raising for real. During the session, each founder does their pitch and then the panelists + other founders provide feedback. All of this is done virtually in a closed Zoom room and strict confidentiality is enforced to protect the intention of the space. What makes it unique: • Each session is focused on a particular topic/industry, and panelists and founders are hand-picked to match to ensure relevance. • Each session includes 3 founders/founding teams and 3 VCs/industry expert panelists, allowing panelists to riff off one another and demonstrate in real-time where there is/is not consensus (and what founders should expect with different VCs when they go out to raise) • Unlike a pitch competition where founders are pressed for time, TGR gives founders a full 40 minutes to go through their pitch and get meaningful feedback. • This is not about giving founders “pats on the back” or participation accolades. TGR was designed for real talk, in a way that’s actually helpful to founders during what can be a very difficult and confusing process. TGR was originally focused just on health tech, but because it’s gotten such great traction and incredible feedback from both founders and panelists that I'm doubling down and expanding to other topics. We’ve had over 350 founders apply from 24 different countries and over 150 panelists apply to date. Prior panelists include top VCs from the likes of Bessemer, Bain, Greycroft, Headline, NEA, Notable, Salesforce Ventures, and others.

Last Friday, the Modulor Ventures family came together for our Autumn Summit 2024, a tradition that always fills us with pride and joy! 🎉🍂 During the first part of the event, each company within the Modulor group (Minimum.run, mendesaltaren, Nocodehackers, Tailor Hub) shared their key moments, achievements, and the most exciting updates from Q3. 🚀✨ But our Summit is about more than just numbers and data. It’s a space to reconnect and reaffirm the values that unite us as the Modulor family ❤️, while sharing our vision for the future. 🌟 These meetings help us align the group's objectives and move forward together in the same direction. ➡️ In the second part, each company had a more intimate session with their team 🤝, where we could answer questions and discuss the future and next steps. It was a perfect moment to strengthen personal and professional bonds. 💬👥 Of course, it wasn’t all business. We made time for fun too! 🎉 At Minimum, we organized a bingo game that brought lots of laughs 😄, especially for the winners, Carmen and Luzia, who took home the two prizes of the afternoon. 🎁🎉 The Autumn Summit reminds us that, as the Modulor family, we share a common vision and mutual commitment. 🙌 We’re excited for what’s ahead and the opportunities to keep growing together! 💪🚀 #Innovation #VentureBuilder #teamwork #culture

Take on Board Accelerator is in its eighth year. Eight years! For those who haven’t been a part of this program, we’ve pulled together a behind-the-scenes blog post. It starts with a snapshot of the first day, followed by eight themes to give an idea of what the participants feel, experience and achieve over the course of the Accelerator year. Eight themes for eight years: #1 Boardroom dynamics are the perennial challenge #2 Relationships need to be nurtured #3 More is achieved during an Accelerator year #4 Change and growth are championed #5 Confidence is boosted #6 They have more in common than expected #7 A melting pot of knowledge and wisdom #8 Long-term connections are formed Have you participated in one (or more!) of the eight Accelerators? If so, tell us about your Accelerator journey. Do any of these themes resonate for you? Ps. I’ll be kicking off 2025 registrations a little earlier this year. Keep an eye out for the super earlybird tickets. 📚 https://lnkd.in/gFzb_w4U #governanceskills #boardskills #groupcoaching #grouptraining #takeonboardaccelerator

I have to say, The Sifted conference was FANTASTIC! The “How to Take a Startup to New Markets” panel really stood out for me, moderated by Daphné Leprince-Ringuet, with insights from Duncan Clark, Sahar Meghani and Eshita Kabra the discussion hit home for what we do at Propel! Here are some key takeaways from yesterday, which also links in to my 2 week New York City trip... It’s clear why New York is a startup hub. The time zone works for US-Europe/UK collaboration, and the talent pool is unmatched. The energy and access to investors make it an ideal place for scaling globally. A common theme that I’m seeing across companies expanding internationally, the commercial teams are being put in place, but Marketing is often forgotten - DON’T FORGET ABOUT THE POWER OF BUILDING YOUR BRAND AWARENESS LOCALLY! In short, Founders need to think critically about their runway and costs, as strong leadership and company culture are essential for tackling the challenges of new markets! Big shout out to Amy Lewin and Mimi Billing making it a huge success.
