An entire HR team was fired because their AI-based ATS system was auto-rejecting candidates. I recently came across a concerning story where the ATS used by this HR team was rejecting all applicants. The twist? Even the manager supervising the team got rejected by the ATS, as his resume didn’t meet its rigid guidelines. It really makes me wonder: how many companies have started using AI ATS systems, thinking it’ll save them time and manpower? But what's happening is the exact opposite. They are missing out on a lot of deserving candidates because their resumes don’t fit the algorithm’s narrow criteria. While technology can streamline processes, we mustn’t forget the essential human touch in hiring. Great candidates aren’t just defined by keywords; they bring unique skills, experiences, and personalities to the table. So, hiring managers and recruiters, if you’re reading this, please ensure your systems are complemented by a human review. A rejection can shatter the dreams of someone looking for a job. Let’s not let technology overshadow the human potential we have at our fingertips!
