So many Go-to-Market teams get this wrong. 👇 Working tirelessly on strategy… Making sure you’re solving important customer problems… Only to see lackluster numbers in the dashboard. ❌ This isn’t anyone’s idea of a dream launch scenario. 👆 So how do you avoid it? Here’s one idea… By refusing to ignore one of the biggest levers for GTM success: Competitive positioning. ✅ You know all about positioning. How important it is… But “competitive positioning” carries with it an all-important reframe: “No product exists in a vacuum.” Like it or not, prospects are sizing you up in relation to what they know *already*. So… • Where do competing solutions fall short? • Where do they leave customers wanting? • And how do you fill *those* gaps? No matter how well you speak to customers’ pain points… You *must* differentiate. Nail your competitive positioning. #competitivepositioning #gotomarket #gtmsuccess P.S. In the dynamic business landscape, the ability to pivot and adapt your go-to-market strategy is crucial for sustained success. Embrace agility as a core principle to stay ahead of the curve. 1) Implement a robust feedback loop that captures market intelligence, customer insights, and performance metrics. Regularly review and adjust your strategy based on this data-driven feedback. 2) Foster a culture of experimentation and iteration. Encourage your team to test new tactics, channels, and messaging, and quickly double down on what works while discarding what doesn't. Failure is an opportunity to learn and refine your approach. what stage of the GTM are you in? - problem-market fit - product- market fit - platform-market fit in our advisory work, most GTM leaders get what metrics to track, wrong! here's why... in problem-market fit - functional and few metrics is all you need to track... don't boil the ocean... you are in testing and survival mode - so just do that in product-market fit - now is the time to see if you can actually scale, really grow your customer base... this is when you need scorecard of sorts in platform-market fit - you have multiple products and each of those products could individually be in problem or product market fit. now you need to start tracking by customer segments and cohorts all in all --- your GTM stage should dictate your metrics by stage. your take? love, Sangram

Before deciding to scale your GTM motions you should: * * * * 1. Have a well defined ICP. 2. Determine your Go-to-market strategy. Many colleagues have expressed difficulties in determining how many GTM motions they can implement to be more effective. My recommendation is to evaluate your current GTM motion through two main lenses: 1. Unit economics 2. Customer journey metrics/data After understanding these, you can determine if it makes sense to add a new GTM motion or not. With a solid foundation, you can scale your business without problems. In the current market, it's important to thoroughly evaluate the performance of your current strategy before adding a GTM motion that would increase your costs. The ICP is often the right starting point for making any decision...

I was asked a great question in a new peer group last week. What is Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy and enablement (in other words, what do you do, Rae?). My short answer: I help our teams make our customers and prospects the business heroes of their days. 🌟 For me, GTM encompasses more than just a launch strategy. It builds a framework for sustainable growth and market penetration, partnering with cross-functional teams to evolve and deploy business systems that can shift based on market conditions and goals. 📍 I subscribe to the holistic approach that covers market research, product positioning, and sales channels development, plus a whole lot of voice of the vendor, voice of the customer, and voice of the prospect insights (hello, Gong) ⚙ It's about equipping our teams with the necessary tools, knowledge, and resources to not only reach but deeply resonate with our target audiences and begin building client partnerships early in the sales process. It's why I get excited to see double-digit increases in our teams aligning on our product value propositions across thousands of calls, which correlates well with QoQ increases in product demos and average order value (AOV). The groundwork for success in #GoToMarket is 'a bit o' both' -- art and science supported by tracking both hard and soft performance metrics. #BusinessStrategy #GTMEnablement #MarketResearch #ProductPositioning
