Sometimes the most valuable feedback is the most painful to get. In our usual in-person demos, we guide users through our application, which we had assumed was quite intuitive. But this week, I received a spontaneous 12-minute video of a potential partner trying out our application on their own for the first time—without any prior instruction. It was, to put it mildly, painful to watch: - “No, don’t click there yet.” - “Oh, you need to activate this part first!” - “Wait, why did you go there now?” But that was EXTREMELY HELPFUL! It pointed out the many missteps that can prevent a user from experiencing the actual functionality of the application. I am glad we launched early and got that valuable feedback early on. Chances are, we couldn't figure this out without letting people use it. A special thanks to our partner for taking the time to evaluate the tool and share their experience with us.
