Changing the way people think about all things stadium economics

Exciting news! I'm thrilled to share that not one but two of my recent articles have been (finally) published in print this week, and both of them are literature reviews. In the first one, Caroline Amberger and I synthesize the extant literature on no-show behavior, including but not limited to spectator no-show behavior. In our research, we observe that, although potential antecedents of such behavior are manifold (and not always neatly comparable across the different industries), there still exist commonalities, most of which relate to product characteristics and the opportunity costs arising from physical attendance. In contrast, although we document a promising effect of exploiting reminders in reducing no-show behavior, our understanding of the effectiveness of potential countermeasures is less pronounced. In the second one, Heath McDonaldSteven Dunn, Byron Sharp, and I review the relatively scarce literature on sports season ticket subscriptions. Specifically, we focus on those three phenomenons most prominent in previous research: (1) season ticket holder satisfaction, (2) churn/renewal behavior, and (3), of course, no-show behavior. As always, I've included the links in the comments below. If you can't access the manuscripts directly but want to have a proper read, DM me or comment below – I've got you covered!
