By the end of June, the S&P 500’s +15% return ranked as the 16th strongest first-half return since 1931. It was also more than 7% above the average full-year return, despite only being at the mid-year mark. Where do we go from here?

Tax planning becomes increasingly important as your income grows and your financial situation becomes more complex. Here we offer a few simple ideas for high earners to proactively reduce their tax burden.

Why does Tiger Woods have a swing coach? Why does LeBron James have a shooting coach? Why do top CEOs hire business advisors? Because like us, they too have blind spots. We don't advise people who are incapable of choosing smart investments, staying disciplined, or mapping out their financial future. Meet Katie and Adam. They have excelled in their careers and positioned themselves well for the future with smart financial choices. They are both high earners, but have continued to live well below their means, resulting in a consistent monthly cash surplus (with which they aren't exactly sure what to do). They are raising three children, aged 5, 8, and 11, and while they have been diligent about saving for retirement and investing in their 401(k)s, they find themselves struggling to balance many financial goals, such as saving for their children's education, planning annual adventures, and renovating their home to better suit their growing family. They have been focused on building a stable future for their children, but with college costs looming and the desire to pay for these without incurring too much debt, they need a strategic plan to balance their current lifestyle, future aspirations, and financial goals.
