20 years ago this month, Andre Lavoie and I sat down in a Dunkin' Donuts in Newton Center with our attorney to sign the incorporation paperwork for what eventually became ClearCompany. For me, the company really started almost two years earlier, when Andre called me back one evening and said, "what are you doing with that idea with the resumes you told me about? I like that one." We'd kicked dozens of concepts around over the prior few years, but one of us always found a reason to bounce them--until then. But this one, the more we chewed on it, the more it felt like The One. And so in September of 2004 we made it official, and six months later launched our first product, with our first paying customer (though I never did get around to sending them a bill for their $3000 subscription). A while back a candidate I was interviewing asked me what was the biggest surprise after (almost) 20 years, and I said, "how much the essential problem hasn't changed." What was obvious to Andre and I, even as overconfident and inexperienced twentysomethings, was how poorly companies understood their people, and the processes they used to manage and (hopefully) maximize the value of that enormous investment. We believed that a single system which could accompany the employee from the moment of first contact to the end of their journey would help companies hire better, build great cultures, and develop and retain the top talent needed to hit their goals. Since then, the work of HR teams has migrated from being mostly on paper--if it was tracked at all--to a vast ecosystem of tens of thousands of HR and recruiting apps, and I'm not sure it's benefited the overworked and underappreciated HR teams as much as it's benefited the HCM industry. And that's why our vision--our North Star--remains largely the same as it was over two decades ago. It's been an incredible ride and it wouldn't have been possible without the help of hundreds of employees and thousands of customers who put their trust in us over the years. Thank you!

Yesterdays sales training session was another productive and informative one. It is always valuable to see the different approaches used throughout the sales process. Sales methodology and techniques are effective skills that are widely applicable, both within your professional life and beyond. It was a positive day spent collaborating with an incredible team. On to the next training session! #rockwellautomation #salestraining #teameffort
My late father used to say ''Those that do not drink off the well of experience, will die of thirst in the desert of ignorance''... And so we practice, we try new things, and we brainstorm to ensure we hit the next milestone... so the desert blooms. This morning we had a quick pitch certification and we brainstormed around the input and ideas of each team member to dig deeper into the value of what we offer. Hats off to this amazing team! So proud of you!

Had an amazing breakfast with a friend and mentor— he’s an RVP that still personally produces because he enjoys helping the “right client.” We chatted about titles and how everyone has different perspectives about them. We chatted about ideal clients in both of our spaces. (We’re in different industries.) We chatted about the feeling of validation and the sense of accomplishment you get after closing a deal. It made me realize, that I too, enjoy the same thing. Winners like to know they’re winning. How do you know you’re winning? And even further— How does your team know they’re winning?

GreenSquareAccord has announced receiving 254 nominations for their Gold Star Awards, describing this as an impressive 42% increase over last year’s entries. However, this claim seems somewhat underwhelming, especially considering their workforce size and the upcoming expenditure for the awards ceremony. To put this in perspective, with an employee base ranging between 1,000 and 5,000, the 254 nominations represent only about 5.08% to 25.4% of their total staff. Last year’s nominations, calculated to be around 179, indicate a low participation rate. Moreover, it is important to note that these nominations are solely from staff members, with no input from customers or residents. This exclusion is disheartening, particularly considering the crucial role that customers and residents play in the organisation’s operations. Their feedback and recognition would provide a more comprehensive and authentic measure of performance and service quality. When considering the costs associated with organising and hosting an awards ceremony, including logistics, venue, awards, and lost productivity, one must question the efficiency and impact of this exercise. The expenditure seems extravagant and not necessarily reflective of broad recognition across the organisation. Given these figures and the lack of customer/resident involvement, it's crucial to consider whether the awards genuinely enhance morale and recognition or if they simply serve as a costly tradition with limited reach. In light of these numbers, the resources allocated to the Gold Star Awards might be better invested in more impactful employee and customer engagement initiatives, or better yet spent making the homes of their residents safe, warm and dry.
We’ve received 254 nominations for our Gold Star Awards, an impressive 42% increase on last year. Our awards are an important opportunity for us to recognise and reward the colleagues and teams who go above and beyond and enable us provide a great service to our customers. Our final ceremony will take place on Wednesday 3 July 2024. We can’t wait to crown our winners, good luck everyone!

What goes into creating winning award entries? We're lucky to have a few wins under our belt, as well as judging industry and comms awards across the years. Missive's Whitney Simon, Erin Lovett, Nicola Koronka and Emma Ross reveal what the judges are looking for when they're deciding on the all important gold medals, including: 🟡 Why entering awards is important 🟡 How to win awards 🟡 Telling a compelling story with your entry 🟡 Providing quantifiable results and evidence https://lnkd.in/eJM_NnHc

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗚𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗼... 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺! 🏆 Vegas Legends has won the 𝗦𝗕𝗖 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 for 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗼! But let’s be clear – this award doesn’t belong to the company; it belongs to the incredible team behind it. 🎉 In business, nothing is more important than your team, and this win is a testament to that. So, what’s the secret to winning an award like this? It’s all about the people you work with. Here are a few things I’ve learned along the way: 🔑 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗲. Size doesn’t always equal success. Efficiency does. 💡 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸. Give them the freedom to innovate, and they’ll surprise you every time. 💪 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺. A motivated team is unstoppable. ❤️ 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀. Happy teams make happy customers. 🤝 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺. Empowerment is the key to ownership and accountability. 🤔 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗱 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. (Just kidding... but seriously, sometimes it’s okay to let them figure it out. 😉) Together with my Co-Founder Cedomir Tomic, we couldn’t be prouder of the team we have. They are the true legends behind this recognition. Nikoleta Hristova, Victor Dessov, Kristina Koledova, Nia Seliktar, this award is yours – now go fly! 🚀🚀🚀
