The last two weeks have been hard for all of us in Spain. Accepting and reacting to the worst natural disaster in the history of Spain has been certainly terrifying and absolutely everyone has taken action in some way. As all of the Valencia naturals around the world, these days have been difficult for me and my family, Valencia is our home city, where our families and friends live and which lifes changed so dramatically from one day to the other, even for the ones that were fortunate not to be directly impacted by the disaster. The whole country reacted, and that was the only confort not only for every impacted citizen in Valencia, but in fact for everyone of us, who have been in the most deepest sadness during these two last weeks while managing our normal lives and at the same time traveling back home to help and be close to the ones we love and mobilizing many initiatives to help our families, friends and region. Roberto Gonzalez Piqueras and I are extremely glad for the support received from our friends and communities in Madrid, what has enabled fantastic initiatives to support our friends, families and communities back home in Valencia. This last Tuesday, exactly two weeks after the #Dana hit Valencia, a tremendously generous donation of furniture and school material, from Runnymede College, their families and staff, arrived in the impacted region to enable 5 schools to open their doors again and ensure that the children and their families can try to return to their normal lifes. There have been too many losses and there is still too much to be done to return the region to normal, but the support of the community, the pride and passion of our people, gives everyone the hope that is needed right now. Our deepest gratitude to all, this gives us the motivation to continue finding the best way of supporting our people and stay positive. This post is to express gratitude but also to encourage everyone to keep helping Valencia in any way possible, there is still too much to be fixed and the support received from the authorities and army is not enough, please trust anyone who has been there in person checking out. Each of your help is being absolutely key, Many thanks indeed.

In response to the recent floods in Valencia, Runnymede College will be donating school supplies and furniture to support schools in the affected areas. Mr. and Mrs. Almeida, one of our Valencian families, have been volunteering in the region and are in contact with local schools to identify their immediate needs. They have also connected Runnymede with local businesses that are serving as distribution centers for the materials. We are extremely grateful for the generous donations from our parents and for the work our students and staff are putting into the collection and packing of the supplies. Runnymede will be dispatching the supplies next Tuesday.
