One of the most underrated skillets in GTM is the ability to truly step out of your shoes and into the shoes of a prospect. If you can master that motion, almost any GTM activity becomes second nature and your effectiveness becomes top tier.

Just like receivers have their route trees, sales reps need a rebuttal tree. In sports, athletes prepare for every possible scenario on the field. Similarly, in sales, it’s about anticipating objections and knowing which “route” to take next. It’s not just about running the same play every time—it’s about reading the situation, adapting, and executing based on preparation and strategy. The more you refine your playbook, the more equipped you are to navigate each conversation, adjust your approach, and move closer to your goal. How often are you updating your sales playbook? #Sales #AthleteMindset #ProfessionalDevelopment #WinningStrategies

The best sellers I know create and own their own personal GTM strategy. They may not even think of it this way, but that is what it boils down to. They control the inputs of time, energy, effort and activity that will ultimately lead them to the goals and objectives they have for their business. Start thinking of your role and book of business as it's own franchise. Put thought into how will run your business to achieve maximum revenue output. Ask yourself, what is my personal GTM strategy? How will you run your business? Where will you spend your time? How will you stack rank your territory? What accounts will you prioritize? Who will you target? How will you hone your research and messaging? How you leverage your internal and external ecosystem? The list goes on, but creating your own GTM and aligning in with the GTM strategy of your company is a recipe for winning. I go deeper on this in section 2 of Revenue on Repeat, which is all about "Deciding on Your Go-To-Market and Business Operating Rhythm". Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/g7hTH77r Also props to Jc Pollard for inspiring this post with his post today about how he is approaching his new AE role. #karpediem

Building an elite GTM team isn’t just about process. It’s an indoctrination. A discipline. It’s not uncommon to hire a sales trainer or GTM consultant, get some solid advice, but find it doesn’t stick. It isn’t because the advice was bad (necessarily). It’s because change is hard. That’s why Pickworth GTM is so hands on. We know it takes time to change an organization’s DNA. A half-day workshop won’t cut it. So we: 🐙 Identify stage-appropriate gaps. 🐙 Show clients what they need to do to close those gaps. 🐙 Help implement those changes. 🐙 Continuously monitor those changes, making sure the gap is fully closed and the team adheres to the protocol. Monitoring can look like weekly (or even daily) stand ups. It can look like role-playing sessions to cement and reinforce learning. It can look like regular reporting and executive dashboards. Build the plan. Execute the plan. Monitor the plan.

➡️ Yesterday, I was lucky enough to facilitate a session for our Enablement team with this incredible group of sellers. As a team, we need to deeply understand our customers - our internal GTM teams - so that we can effectively make an impact. Derrick Conahan talked through some of the biggest differences when selling into different market segments and his biggest pain as a seller. Michael Wendahl shared how his team supports sales, but also some of the gaps he sees in the field that enablement could fill with some upskilling. Trevor Campbell walked through his sales process and how he stays organized with large organizations, partners with internal teammates to multi-thread, and what sort of information he looks to uncover so he can develop a POV. Loni Miller talked about her experience moving from Sales > Enablement > Sales. Her insights are great because her perspective on what works and what doesn't is unique since she's walked both sides of the line. All that to stay, on top of crushing at your job, your willingness to step away and chat with our team was incredibly valuable. We appreciate you! 🙌🏼 #Enablement #DayInTheLife #Sales #Seismic
