Career Connect Oregon: Empowering Futures Through Four Key Domains 🔑 At Career Connect Oregon, we are dedicated to preparing students for their best possible futures. Our comprehensive approach is built on four key domains that provide a structured pathway for career-connected learning: Awareness - Learning About Work 🧠 Outcomes: Develop self-motivation, persevere towards goals, and enhance communication skills. Experiences: Guest speakers, career days, job research, and self-assessments help students understand their interests, strengths, and the diverse careers available to them. Exploration - Learning For Work 🔍 Outcomes: Set academic, career, and social/emotional goals; balance activities; develop leadership and teamwork skills. Experiences: Career fairs, workplace tours, informational interviews, classroom simulations, and job shadows allow students to explore various career paths and identify skills needed for success. Preparation - Learning Through Work 🛠️ Outcomes: Gain technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and real-world experience. Experiences: Internships, apprenticeships, and project-based learning immerse students in practical, hands-on experiences, bridging classroom knowledge with real-world applications. Training - Learning In Work 🚀 Outcomes: Achieve advanced training and certifications, ensuring readiness for high-demand careers. Experiences: Industry-specific training programs and certification courses provide students with the credentials and expertise needed to excel in their chosen fields. Through these domains, we create a robust framework that supports students at every stage of their career journey, from initial awareness to advanced training. Our mission is to engage, educate, and empower youth, helping them build the skills and confidence to succeed in an ever-changing world.
