Judgment ⚖ - Western Cape High Court - application for leave to appeal – test for leave to appeal – firstly, reasonable prospects of success – secondly, where the court comes to the conclusion that there is some other compelling reason why the appeal should be heard. “…The conclusion is that the appeal does not bear prospects of success is significantly strengthened when one considers that the determination of a just and equitable remedy is a discretion in the true sense and an appellate court may not interfere unless it is clear that the choice the court has preferred is at odds with the law.” #CourtJudgment #LeaveToAppeal #LegalUpdate #Law #AnnekeWhelanAttorneys #LitigationAttorneys #CommercialLitigation

The team claps from the dressing room when a batter scores 50, 100, 150 or 200. We have also seen many times that the batters don't raise their bat to receive the reception they get, but still, the teammates clap for the milestone. It also happens when the team is not going to win the match, but the individual performance of a batter becomes a reason to appreciate. How important can it be for someone whose teammates celebrate and appreciate small milestones? Rohit Sharma or Shivam Dube, Harmanpreet Kaur or Richa Ghosh - no matter who scores 50 or 100 - a captain or a player, the team appreciates all - in winning cause or losing situation. Teammates don't celebrate if a player gets out on 49 or 99. One run completes the milestone! Learn the art to appreciate and celebrate other's tiniest milestones in your working area. People will remember you forever.

Had an amazing breakfast with a friend and mentor— he’s an RVP that still personally produces because he enjoys helping the “right client.” We chatted about titles and how everyone has different perspectives about them. We chatted about ideal clients in both of our spaces. (We’re in different industries.) We chatted about the feeling of validation and the sense of accomplishment you get after closing a deal. It made me realize, that I too, enjoy the same thing. Winners like to know they’re winning. How do you know you’re winning? And even further— How does your team know they’re winning?

What is the effect of an investor creating a development platform to empower talented people across their portfolio companies? ⬆ They push up. 😲 Not like a burpee, although we ask them to do that too :-), but like a force of upward momentum. Imagine the impact of injecting a passionate group of ambitious and caring individuals into a system. This group is being trained to challenge the status quo, improve themselves and others and drive change. ⚠ Warning! This is a direct threat to all ego-centric bosses out there, but a gift to every CEO with the courage (and wisdom) to create space and unleash the full potential of young leaders. Year 3 and another impressive group from India and across the Nordics! Geraldine von Celsing Johan Redtzer
