Huge congratulations to Hugo Trower and Tom Darby for conquering the Silverstone Half Marathon this weekend!
Despite battling the miserable weather conditions, they both achieved times they were happy with, and we’ve beaten our fundraising target!
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, the money raised will make such a difference to the children that New Leaf Learning supports.
There is still the opportunity to donate if you want to. Every penny raised will go to New Leaf - https://lnkd.in/egGhwHTS

At Ram Jack of Texas, we are supporting our communities by giving back to those who have served our country. Recently, we had the privilege of repairing the home foundation of a local veteran, ensuring he has a safe and stable home. This project is a testament to our commitment to community service and making a difference. VOTE FOR US: https://tr.ee/GGH3UEOf4y
🏕️ Here's why your daily vote in the Defender Service Awards is crucial:
• Winning a Defender 130 would simplify our transportation logistics
• We could reallocate funds currently spent on rental vehicles
• This means more resources for expanded healing modalities in our programs
Your vote doesn't just help us win a vehicle – it enhances our ability to serve SOF families in the wilderness settings that foster deep healing and connection.

Not everyone is cut out for a life of service. Be it a calling or a gift, a life devoted to helping others is nothing short of remarkable. For WRUS senior Delaney Kimble, pursuing a future in emergency services is not only a path, it’s a passion.

In 1970, community members in New Hope, Minnesota, joined with faith-based partners to establish People Responding in Social Ministry (PRISM, Golden Valley MN) to help neighbors struggling with food insecurity. What began as a small shed of essentials in New Hope has grown into a resource serving a larger community area, stretching into Plymouth, Crystal, New Hope, Robbinsdale, and Golden Valley. PRISM’s mission is to provide social services and connections that empower people to build healthy, stable lives. Programs include the Marketplace Food Shelf, housing assistance, Shop for Change thrift store, and children’s programs offering birthday party supplies, a Holiday Toy Shoppe, and back-to-school items.
As food insecurity rises, PRISM remains a crucial resource. Before the pandemic, 1 in 11 families faced hunger; today, it’s 1 in 6. Despite these challenges, PRISM treats every participant with dignity and compassion, providing vital services while honoring the resilience of the individuals they serve. It's an honor and privilege to serve Restorative Farms (RF), an incredible non-profit, located in the heart of South Dallas, Texas. RF is dedicated to transforming lives in a community facing significant challenges, including being designated the most impoverished in the state.
Their core mission revolves around building a sustainable, economically strong, and well-managed urban farm serving as the foundation for a thriving community "agrisystem" within Dallas. This replicable model aims to address food deserts by providing residents with access to fresh, ethically sourced food.
But RF goes beyond just food. They offer professional training and employment opportunities, empowering individuals, including those formerly incarcerated, to achieve financial stability and contribute to community development.
The founders, Brad Boa, Tyrone Day, Doric Earle, and Owen Lynch, envision RF as a collaborative effort with the community to tackle three critical issues:
- Providing healthy, affordable produce: Ensuring individuals living in food deserts have access to affordable, fresh, medical-grade food.
- Boosting the local economy: Creating income opportunities for community members through farm production and sales.
- Empowering the community: Equipping individuals with training, work experience, and leadership skills to break the cycle of poverty and resource depletion.
RF is more than just a farm; it's a systems-based solution. They're committed to building a self-sustaining, climate-conscious, and profitable network of farms and people, all working towards a shared mission of community upliftment.

At many organizations, including Save A Family Plan, the fiscal new year is April first. This is a great time to check with your employer to see if they offer a donation matching program. If they do, it could mean DOUBLING the impact of your charitable giving!
Here is a great video submitted by longtime donors, Brad and Misty, sharing how they did it. If you're willing to share this info with friends and family, please share this post or send them the direct link (https://lnkd.in/dHzqVeQu)
Here's a tip: if your company does not currently offer a gift-matching program... maybe they will if you propose one :)

You know what's actually scarier than Halloween? The fact is that 4 million Americans can't find affordable housing. 👻
While ghosts and goblins are fun to imagine today, real terrors haunt our housing market: skyrocketing prices, shrinking inventory, and the bone-chilling reality that hardworking families are being priced out of their communities.
But at Impact Growth Fund, we're not afraid of big challenges. We're treating the housing crisis like the monster it is – systematically, strategically, and with unwavering determination. Our HALO initiative isn't just another band-aid solution; it's a silver bullet aimed at creating thousands of affordable housing opportunities.
No tricks, just treats: quality housing, sustainable communities, and the peace of mind that comes with having a place to call home.
Together, we can turn this nightmare into the American Dream again. 🏠✨
