Bridging Cultures: Israeli and Persian Heritage Through the Lens of Bustan Paradise In a world focused on division, it's vital to highlight cultural resonances that unite us. Israeli and Persian cultures, rich in mythologies, arts, science, and agricultural heritage, offer a unique opportunity to build cultural and economic bridges. Deep Roots of Cultural Resonance Both cultures share a deep appreciation for mythology, arts, scientific advancements, and agricultural heritage. These commonalities form a foundation for mutual understanding and collaboration. Mythologies and Arts Both cultures have a profound respect for mythology, which can bridge cultural gaps and foster empathy. Science and Innovation Israeli tech innovation and Persian contributions to science can lead to shared advancements benefiting both societies. Agricultural Heritage The Bustan, a traditional garden, is a common thread, symbolizing sustainability and harmonious living. Building Bridges Cultural Exchange Fostering cultural exchange can break down barriers, build trust, and create meaningful dialogue. Economic Collaboration Combining Israeli tech with Persian craftsmanship can create unique products and sustainable growth. Bustan Paradise as a Symbol Bustan Paradise represents what can be achieved by blending tradition with modernity, inspiring projects that foster sustainability and innovation. Call to Action Let's seize the opportunity to build bridges. Please share ideas and opportunities for collaboration—beyond our governments—to create something beautiful. If interested in projects celebrating our cultural connections, let’s connect. Regenerating ecosystems, economies, cultural heritage - through the power of impact business - for thee benefit of all stakeholders. #happyjuneteenth #juneteenth from @asiko_artist • Where is your light Our cultures are the unique hues in the grand tapestry of humanity, they tell the stories of where we’ve been and guiding us toward where we’re headed. We could say our cultures are part of the makeup of our light, guiding us and our communities into the future. In the state of globalisation the world has never been closer, we have all become interconnected through our economies, our social media, our technology etc. Globalization has its merits, to know what different cultures are doing to manage their finances or their developments in sustainability. The easy exchange of ideas is powerful thing in the world we live in. There’s a big but here, how do we function in this world that is becoming more interdependent where foreign culture supersedes local and traditional cultures. There is a great possibility we loose ourselves and identity in this new world. The key here is for artists and creatives to tell the stories through their work and importantly digitally document these stories. Through the work to contribute to the grand tapestry of the African story, which is complex and diverse. There are lot more things to do concerning communities and governments but that’s a more complex conversation for another day. So share your stories, honor your roots, and never forget: the world needs your light. #CultureAndIdentity #asiko #Inspiration #WhereIsYourLight #culturaltapestry #africatotheworld

A Comparative Analysis of Cultural Heritage Registration in Asia Japan's impressive tally of 119,887 registered cultural heritage items stands in stark contrast to the figures of its Asian neighbors, Thailand with 9,398 and South Korea with 4,297. This significant disparity is partly attributable to the methodology employed in cataloguing these assets. While Thailand and South Korea primarily rely on centralized government registration, Japan's system involves a more decentralized approach, delegating the task to local authorities. This decentralized model has proven instrumental in uncovering and documenting a wider spectrum of cultural heritage, as local communities often possess intimate knowledge of their historical and cultural treasures. The involvement of local governments in Japan's cultural heritage registration process underscores the importance of community engagement in preserving these invaluable assets. By empowering local communities to identify, document, and protect their cultural heritage, this approach fosters a sense of ownership and stewardship. It also ensures that a more holistic picture of a nation's cultural landscape emerges, as opposed to a narrowly focused, top-down inventory. In contrast, the centralized approach adopted by Thailand and South Korea, while efficient in certain respects, may overlook cultural artifacts and traditions at the grassroots level. A more inclusive approach, similar to Japan's, could potentially reveal a wealth of hidden cultural gems and contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of these nations' cultural heritage. It is essential to recognize that the quantity of registered cultural heritage items is not solely indicative of a nation's cultural richness. The quality of preservation efforts, accessibility to these assets, and the extent to which they contribute to the community's identity and well-being are equally important factors. Nonetheless, the data on cultural heritage registration provides valuable insights into the different approaches countries take in safeguarding their cultural legacy. By examining these varying strategies, policymakers and cultural heritage practitioners can identify best practices and implement measures to enhance their own cultural heritage management systems. Ultimately, the goal is to ensure that future generations can appreciate and benefit from the rich tapestry of cultures that have shaped our world. I remain amazed by ancient wisdom traditions such as those here in Bali, and those that have been shared with me by various Elders of different corners of the world. I still feel like a beginner on the indigenous wisdom journey, however - something deep inside me feels I know all of this, as it deeply resonates. Which I believe it does with all of us, as we all come from an ancient past where being a part of nature and aligning with its cycles, was a given. Where healing with local plants was the norm, trusted and long-term relationships were the core of living together and where the worlds beyond the mind was given its due importance. We do not need all of this anymore. We can live without it. Pretty much all can be fabricated artificially, can be organised otherwise, or can simply be ignored. Which has its advantages. It's convenient. It's functioning. But at what price? I believe it is wise for each of us individually and as a society to understand more of the "old ways", review what served the flourishing of all life and consciously reintegrate it into our lives. Indigenous Elders can help us a lot with this - in terms of remembering. And we can partner with them to explore how this ancient wisdom can inform the steps we take as innovators, impact investors, policy makers, #sustainability managers etc to protect our habitat planet earth and to redesign our social and economic systems. I will share more about what I learnt about #indigenouswisdom and about #investing in indigenous communities once back in Europe at Katapult Future Fest, at the PYM Impact Days and very soon, we could dive together into the related topic of #consciousness at the United Nations in Geneva during the International Day of Conscience, the 5th of April. It is one of the smallest republics in the world and may be the oldest one in Europe.
