Diamond anniversaries are few and far between. Perhaps massive street closures aren’t the traditional gift, but it is one of the ancillary benefits of NATO celebrating its 75th anniversary just a mile from me. The headlines will talk about enduring stability and the commitment of various systems, specifically air defense. In contrast, those lining the beltway carefully ponder the ongoing and underlying question of maintaining these systems. Two weeks back, LANCE LANDRUM reminded the crowd of executives at Precision Talent Solutions' private event that even within NATO, subtle nuances within the various systems (at the time he was referring to 155mm artillery) make interoperability a challenge. For nearly 12 months, Precision has been supporting the efforts in Ukraine by supplying maintenance technicians for an effort repairing UK MOD provided equipment in Western Ukraine. We’ve been able to create strong pipelines of non-Americans with the technical skillsets needed to keep the UK’s military aid to Ukraine on the battlefield. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg reminded NATO leaders today, “There are no cost-free options with an aggressive Russia as a neighbor; there are no risk free options in a war.” When the pipeline opens for US contractors, many vendors on the outside will be wondering where to find the talent. We know. Call us. #Ukraine #NATO #defensecontracting

Just thinking out loud for discussion on US support to Ukraine. If X amount of or Defense Budget is designed to reduct the Russian threat by Y amount, Will we need to restructure the priorities of the Defense Budget post war? Whether Win, lose, or DrawI would assume the Russian Defense Complex and Budget have been hit. Having said that, they, the Russians, will have learned "stuff". What have they Learned? Even reduced, will they be better shaped for the Battlefields in 2035 and beyond. I am not addressing the Political or Demographic issues, though it affects the military. Are our Defense Priorities, affecting the military industrial base, in line to counter a 2035 Russian Threat? What are the Russians sharing with the Chinese? Just some thoughts.

Lunchtime Flashback: Daily World War News from the Past 🌍 World War II History: On December 5, significant events unfolded during the global conflict: 1941 – In the Battle of Moscow, Soviet forces under Georgy Zhukov launched a massive counter-attack against the German army, marking a turning point in the Eastern Front. The operation successfully pushed back the Nazi forces from the outskirts of Moscow. 1941 – Great Britain declares war on Finland, Hungary, and Romania, following their support of Germany in the Axis alliance. This move further expanded the scope of the war in Europe. 1943 – Allied air forces begin Operation Crossbow, targeting Germany's secret weapons bases, including sites connected to the V-1 flying bomb and V-2 rocket programs. The operation aimed to neutralize these advanced weapon systems before they could be deployed against Allied forces. ⚔️🌐 #WWIIHistory #BattleOfMoscow #OperationCrossbow #EasternFront #AlliedVictory #AxisPowers HaJunk - Business Development

"NATO forces are on the move for Steadfast Defender 2024, the Alliance’s largest exercise in decades. The purpose of Steadfast Defender 2024 is to put NATO’s new regional defence plans to the test. With forces practising rapid deployment and combat in both Norway and Poland, Allies are proving their ability to command and control large ground, air and sea forces across significant distances." - @dvidshub.net (Video clips) And that's how Nexus LCM makes a real difference in ensuring mission success. Joint and multinational military operations require collaborative management - planning, transportation, deployment) of physical and human resources in rapidly evolving logistical and operational environments. Resource management relies on numerous complex and disconnected information systems that need to communicate. The Nexus LCM team is proud to support the US Army’s 21st Theater Sustainment Command’s new JEDI Movement Center Europe, which is a key player in orchestrating logistics across Europe. The JMCE coordinates logistics movements of U.S. and allied forces throughout the continent - and beyond - to meet urgent training and real-world requirements, to include tracking and routing incoming donated supplies destined for Ukraine using NATO’s LOGFAS logistics platform interlaced - and interfaced - with JEDI software. "In turbulent times, NATO is our anchor of security. For Germany, taking responsibility is key: for Europe's security, the protection of NATO's eastern flank, and supporting Ukraine", Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said as she is meeting with her NATO counterparts in Brussels. Since 2014, Germany has been steadily ramping up its defense investments and contribution to NATO - and we're seeing the impact today. In 2024, defense spending has reached 2.12% of our GDP, reflecting a significant leap in our commitment to collective security. At the forefront of this strategic push is a nearly $100 billion fund solely dedicated to modernizing military hardware. These bold steps not only strengthen Germany but reinforce our dedication to NATO and the stability of Europe as a whole. #WeInvestInFreedom

Operational medicine has changed. Gone are the days of the: Golden Hour, unlimited supplies, and immediate evacuations. Triaging patients has not changed but the application of triage has. Avenger Triad 24 brought to light how operational medicine will rely on all Army COMPOs, Sister Services, NATO & Civilian partners working together and changes to regulations and authorities. This was one of the best exercises of my 37 year military career. We are evolving to meet the changing mission! https://lnkd.in/eFb8x4Ck

Quite interesting, and, yet, it reflects the trend to talk about HQs and locations before adressing the forces which give these commands the reason to be. And that requires clear commitments of such forces by nations. Then follows, who provides the forces will also have a primary say who commands or contributes to commands.
”The U.S. 7th Army should be reactivated in Germany and the Navy’s European headquarters in Naples should be relocated to the United Kingdom as part of a revamped NATO structure, according to a new Atlantic Council report. ’As presently constituted, the NATO Command Structure is not fit for purpose in a post-2022 NATO’.”
Report recommends NATO relocations, reactivation of US 7th Army in Germany

The sheer size and scale of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine necessitates that the U.S. defence industrial base continues to evolve to meet potential future challenges of similar proportion, U.S. European Command's top official explained during keynote remarks at the Emerging Technologies for Defence Conference & Exhibition in downtown Washington. Speaking remotely to conference attendees, Army Gen. Chris Cavoli, commander of Eucom and Supreme Allied Commander Europe, said that the large-scale conflict in Ukraine is unlike other conflicts that the U.S. has observed over the last 30 years. “And that has profound implications, I think, for the sort of technologies and the sort of defence industry that we need based on the size of the conflict,” Cavoli said. “If you have a very exquisite piece of equipment, but you only have one or two of them — and you’ve got a huge expanse geographically to cover — that might not turn out to be the best equipment strategy for the situation that you’re in,” Cavoli explained, adding that the U.S. hasn’t been in such a position for many years. Good overview and primer.
A comprehensive analysis of NATO countries’ military strengths indicates that without American strategic sponsorship, Europe does not have sufficient combat power to protect itself. Read about it at https://lnkd.in/gg3CURDk.
