“You run into an old friend.” Say you’re walking down the street in another city and out of the blue you run into an old friend from high school. Within moments of reconnecting, you’re having a heated argument over politics, world affairs, fill in the blank_____. Sounds completely bizarre doesn’t it? It happens regularly on the virtual streets of social media. We’ve heard a lot about “turning down the rhetoric” over the last several days. I don’t know about you, but I think we’ve been needing to do this for far longer than the past few days. Maybe a good place to start is to spend less time on social media walking down those virtual streets. And if you get a chance, take that time to connect with someone over a cup of coffee or the “old fashioned” telephone. Chances are you’ll have a civil and enjoyable conversation. We all can use more of that. #connecting #realconversations
