Creating can be designing, verifying ideas, brainstorming etc. I have always been a fan of Ansh Mehra's work and kinda envious 😅 of his skillset of simplifying both "Context" and "Content" which is extremely important and such an underrated skillset in today's day and age. While focussing on the basics and asking us to acquire mastery over it, at no point did it feel preachy or had that "Hustle Bro" mindset which seems to be the way of the world these days. 🙄 Refreshing to see somebody that accomplished talk about how going steady and learning at a pace that holds you accountable and not make learning feel like a ticking time bomb. 😄 "Grow slow but grow well" - this was truly an Aha! moment especially when we live in the age of "Attention Economy". Few takeaways that are universal: 👉 Read. Picking up a book, journal or a research paper and going through the material, slow and steady. Assimilate that information. 👉 Write. Give fuzzy thoughts structure and refine it. 👉 Be observant. This does come to you once "Read" and "Write" becomes a part of your learning behaviour. P.S. Words can shape thoughts, influence emotions, and drive actions. They have the ability to inspire, motivate, heal, or hurt, depending on how they're used. Here's how words can impact various aspects of life: 1. Emotional Impact: Words can evoke strong emotions. A kind word can uplift someone's spirit, while harsh words can cause deep emotional pain. They can heal wounds or deepen them. Positive impact: Encouragement, praise, and expressions of love can boost self-esteem and confidence. Negative impact: Criticism, insults, or negativity can diminish a person's sense of self-worth. 2. Shaping Reality: The words we use help construct our reality. How we describe ourselves, others, and the world influences how we perceive life. Affirmations and mindset: Positive affirmations can help people shift their mindset towards success and self-love. Self-talk: Negative or positive self-talk can reinforce feelings of inadequacy or self-worth, shaping mental and emotional health. 3. Communication and Connection: Words are the foundation of communication, allowing people to express their thoughts, share experiences, and build relationships. **Why Design Thinking Stumbles in India: A Lesson in User Myopia** I’m no expert in design thinking, but a recent discussion on the topic left me with much to reflect on. Design thinking, I was told, revolves around a straightforward principle: place the user at the center. I couldn’t help but connect this to some of the challenges in my country, where this idea often feels more philosophical than practical. It’s not due to a lack of intelligence or creativity—India has plenty of both. Instead, it’s a lack of what I call user sense. Too often, decisions are based on convenience for everyone except the end-user. Having driven extensively in Europe and elsewhere, I can safely say that India’s roads seem almost like an experiment in testing patience, creativity, and, occasionally, bravery. These issues highlight a larger problem: roads here often appear built for the convenience of everyone but the driver. The same applies to tourism. Travel across India, and you quickly sense that tourists are rarely, if ever, factored into decision-making processes. During the discussion, platforms like Ola, Uber, and major e-commerce sites were mentioned as models of effective design thinking, each placing the user squarely at the center. Customers are happy because these platforms provide what they want: convenience, quality, and control. Occasionally, there’s criticism about the impact on local businesses, but customers aren’t responsible for that. People naturally gravitate toward services that prioritize their needs. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for public services, infrastructure, or even education which should logically place the student at the center. Yet in many schools and universities, decisions seem to revolve around everything but the learner. Design thinking is simple in principle, but simple doesn’t mean easy. Real change demands more than good intentions. Lessons Learnt 7-6-2024 *Getting along with co employees at work place* Whatever type of job you have, Working with other people, we can enjoy the benefits that come with getting along with your co employees. Here are few tips on how to get along with the people at your Workpalce. *Start building relationships from the start* Let your co Employees know you are interested in building relationships with them. *Take the time to learn about other people* Showing interest in others signals to them that you are open to forming a friendship and also helps you figure out if you are compatible with a colleague. *Show respect for your co employees* Respect for your coworkers is an important part of getting along with them. No matter how challenging you find the other person to be, showing them respect can ensure that the relationship remains positive and that you’re able to get along with them while at work. *Avoid oversharing* Strive to be open and honest in the workplace. Try to keep your work conversations positive. *Keep your interactions with co employees positive* Keeping your conversations positive can improve your work relationships and boost office morale. *Be approachable* Making yourself approachable in the workplace can also improve your relationships with your coworkers. Helps in letting your employees know they can approach you can help them know that you care about their problems and challenges at work. *Work with other teams if possible* Work with other teams throughout your workplace. This will allow you to meet new people and potentially make new work friends. *Practice respectful behavior and etiquette* Showing up to work on time, wearing appropriate attire and keeping your cellphone on silent are all proper workplace etiquette that can promote positive coworker relationships. At Wellversed employees are trained to take interviews, be it Culture Fit or Technical, while training they are also taught basic interview etiquette such as keeping the cameras on for the duration of the interview and finding a location with minimum background noise etc. Recent experiences have prompted some intriguing questions among myself and my colleagues: Should the same standards be applied to interviewees? We've observed instances where candidates, despite being culturally and technically suitable for roles, have disregarded fundamental interview etiquette. Some arrived late to calls or had to repeatedly stop the interview to relocate within their office environment. The ongoing debate centers on whether such behavior accurately reflects a candidate's potential to contribute and level of dedication. "Powered by AI and perfected by humans" has been the tagline of our company. Our panel of gig-workers, internally known as "Ninjas", are the humans that make our near-perfect client deliverables happen. Our firm uses AI to optimize desk-based processes like Accounts Payable, KYC, Product Cataloguing, Content Moderation, etc. The fear of AI making mistakes (and mind you, it does) prevents many enterprises from unlocking the power of AI. In our approach though, this fear is moot. Low confidence AI outputs are reviewed/corrected by our ninjas before delivery. This ensures high accuracy.
