Today marks 3 months since I came back to Conifer as an internal recruiter. 🎉 When I was a super green 3rd party RPO recruiter for Conifer, I celebrated processing 100 offers by 6 months. Since coming back I have been able to process over 100 offers in half the time! Without the tenure and experience with Conifer, there would have been much more of a learning curve. If a recruiter contacts you to schedule an interview, try to find the earliest availability possible. I am aware it is not doable for everyone, especially if still working full-time, but timing is so important. Especially in a competitive market like this! Check your email and LinkedIn messages daily if you are actively looking for a new role. You can create an email address specifically for your job search to stay organized and avoid your email getting lost. You don't want time to be the reason why you didn't get the job.

Looking for a job can be a job in itself Sourcing roles, networking with people, sending connections w/notes, curating and writing intentional messages and emails. Filling out applications every day or every other day. Hunting down megathread posts, setting alerts for jobs that pop up. Getting eye strain, and migraines from staring at the screen everyday so intensely, or just from the stress of everything. Sometimes you feel defeated, and a bit hopeless. This no doubt is a scary job market right now. There is no magical strategy, or guaranteed way to get noticed or ahead. Because what works for one person might not work for you, or the next person. And in THIS market, a lot of people's success at finding roles is honestly by chance. Luck of the draw. They got to the job post faster, they submitted their application faster than you. Most job postings close or they shut down at capacity because that's how crazy it all is. So they'll stop at 50, 100, 200 applications. Sometimes the roles stay open for weeks and are 1k+ applications, but they aren't realistically looking at those applications, no. They are in the process already with candidates, and the requisitions have to stay open until the position is filled, and sometimes there's no way to stop applications from flowing in unless they go in and close the req. But DO network! But, there is nothing wrong with you, you're an excellent candidate, and I just want you all to know that. I have always loved talking to my candidates, because we have such great conversations, and even if I didnt have a role at that time for them- I tried to hold onto their resumes or names. I created a shared google drive and would ask them to list themselves so I can refer back to it. Even though I am looking for a new role myself, I don't forget about you all. There's no magic, no get a job quick or anything. This is an exhausting experience for everyone, and managers need to understand this. Most really do, and I'm thankful for their compassion and support. But some dont, and it shows in your posts when you make candidates feel small or bash them for using AI to help them write their covers or resumes, or messages or emails to you. I use it, even though I can do without it, if I can automate something that helps me in my job search process then so be it. "Work smarter, not harder". Don't let all the pressure and stress settle in, dont let depression win over, open those curtains, air out the house and rooms, go outside for some sun and a walk in nature. Watch your favorite shows or movies that make you happy, play your video games ( with friends if so- I'm always up for co-ops!), and just remember things will be better. The best investment in my mental health has been the Premium subscription for Calm. It’s not about making hundreds of calls or sending a flurry of emails—it's about being at the right place, at the right time, with the right message. Recruitment isn’t rocket science, but it's all about momentum. When you connect with a candidate or client at the right moment, the whole process flows smoothly. Delay just a second, and that momentum is lost—leading to missed opportunities, stalled negotiations, or worse, lost candidates. A single misstep in timing can throw off the entire process, not just for you, but for your entire team, as well as the client and the candidate. So, in recruitment, being on time isn’t just important—it’s essential for success. Keep the pace, stay responsive, and make your moves when they count!

Happy Monday LinkedIn fam! I hope everyone had a safe and productive weekend! I've noticed a trend among some connections I reached out to regarding additional income opportunities. Surprisingly, many are now looking for work, some even responding rudely or not at all. It's intriguing how being open to new possibilities could have changed their current situation. The pandemic has shown us that no job is entirely secure. In times like these, having multiple income streams is crucial. Staffing firms are employers. They employ thousands for companies and handle payroll, insurance, and much more becoming the "employer of record". Staffing firms post jobs. Also...Recruiting firms do staffing. Staffing firms do Recruiting. Staffing firms and Recruiting firms post jobs and that includes on organic job feeds. Even if those hires only account for 5-10% of the hires, those job posts are important. In Florida alone, On average, 1M+ temporary workers are employed weekly by staffing firms in Florida. They deserve to post organic jobs too. If there are not enough results from the organic free job post, we, the staffing firm (we the employer) sponsor the jobs and spend money. This is not about what a Recruiting firm should or should not do, and how posting jobs is only for the weak...and only the strong recruiters hunt and poach directly...again not my point here, and that is a separate topic. This is about the idea that job posts are a part of the hiring process for everyone who hires directly and staffing/recruiting firms hire directly and in many cases are the employer of record and they should be treated like an employer as well and have the same access to post basic jobs for free on the organic job feeds across America....Linkedin, Indeed, etc.
