Here's a valuable lesson we can learn from mediation. Even if you aren't a mediator. Before sessions, I directly engage with the parties or their representatives. This crucial interaction allows me to fully grasp the needs of each side. From what I gather, I then tailor the structure, timing, location, and sequence of issues to be addressed, effectively "customizing" each session to fit the parties' specific needs. But this level of preparation isn't exclusive to mediators. If you're involved in any conflict, recognize that each situation is unique and understand the specific needs before beginning discussions. It makes the resolution process much more effective. Remember, what worked in one scenario might not be effective in another.
