Here's how you can maintain agility and flexibility in your decision-making as a leader.
How is this for a "formula"? I believe in embracing a beginner's mindset to approach challenges with fresh eyes. Leverage "what if" scenarios to anticipate disruptions, encourage and support a culture of continuous learning, and foster psychological safety collectively and individually to create an environment where team members feel safe to voice ideas and take risks. Leaders can then navigate change effectively and turn potential disruptions into growth opportunities. Currently, where agility defines success, a great leader is one who inspires flexibility and resilience in their teams. Let’s redefine leadership by championing a culture that thrives on adaptability, empowering orgs to skyrocket.

What do you do if you need to showcase your teamwork skills during an interview?
Try standing out with 2 key strategies and try debunking the following myth: Teamwork means always agreeing and avoiding conflicts. Truth: Effective teamwork involves healthy conflict resolution and embracing diverse perspectives. During the interview, besides actively engaging with the interviewer by sharing relevant stories and examples, use your active listening to understand the interviewer's perspective and tailor your responses. Ask insightful questions about the team dynamics, collaboration processes, and ongoing projects. You can discuss how you've successfully collaborated in various team settings, including virtual or cross-functional teams. Highlight instances where you took initiative to resolve conflicts constructively.

What do you do if your team members are not aligned with the goals and expectations?
It's a multi-step process! One way to start is to suggest organizing a workshop or facilitated session aimed at clarifying goals and expectations. During the workshop, encourage open dialogue where team members can voice their perspectives and concerns. You can use techniques such as SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) to identify areas of alignment and divergence. Guide the team in collectively setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals (these never get old) that align with the organization's objectives. Then implement regular check-ins to monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
