Tomorrow we have our 4th MAJOR launch in the last 16 months at Postscript. Each one is a ton of work for the Product Marketing, Enablement and Marketing teams, and each one we sit back and say, not sure we can top that...and each time we figure out a way to do just that. Launch a 2nd product line and reposition the company ✅ Acquire a company and commercially launch it as a 3rd product line (~10 weeks after launching the 2nd product line 😅 ) ✅ Launch a huge feature differentiator that within 6 months had 100% adoption within our customer base ✅ For this one we're launching AI features, but in the Postscript way. That means cutting through the hype and being specific on the what, how it brings value, and making sure we come with the proof...oh yeah, and a fully produced commercial to hype it. Just an amazing marketing, product, creative and enablement teams that I'm so fortunate to work with.

Listen: Comparing the same 3 datapoints against competitors has gotten a bit tired. As marketers, we talk alllll the time about the importance of niching down, yet we're all still using the same few general success metrics across industries and verticals. Fatigue has set in and even if the number is genuinely impressive, it just doesn't have the same OOMPH anymore. But we've still got to find ways to communicate: - How much money we can save you - How much time we can save you - How happy our customers are - How easy it is to win with us So we've got to find ways to do that beyond the ones that people have started to tune out or not take seriously. That's why finding new metrics & datapoints to demonstrate success MORE SPECIFICALLY can be so powerful. (Instead of simply increasing ROI by 100% vs. 200% vs. 300% and so on until the world stops spinning and there exists no more investments to return on!!!) The 37signals Rework podcast is one of the few I consistently listen to — and in a not-so-recent episode, they covered both how they hire & measure the success of hires. At the one-year point post-hire, they make a determination on whether or not they would say "HELL YEAH" to hiring this person again. If not, they posit, maybe it's best to part ways. As a marketer by trade who now works in the recruitment tech space, I loveeeeee thinking through creative ways recruiters can demonstrate their unique impact. How cool would it be to take 37signals' "HELL YEAH" index and turn it into a metric you can then use in bizdev moving forward? "X% of my hires result in a HELL YEAH a year down the line — meaning both the client and the candidate would make the same decision again if they could go back in time." What I love most about this datapoint is that it says a LOT by saying very little. It communicates: - Client satisfaction - Candidate satisfaction - The fact that you care about success DOWN THE LINE, not just about making a placement and moving on - The fact that you maintain relationships with clients & candidates in the long-term, checking in even after the quote-unquote job is done Sometimes compelling data storytelling means finding the story in tired datapoints. Sometimes it means finding a new datapoint altogether.

AI and automation will increase the effectiveness of marketers, not take their jobs. Today in The Wall Street Journal's CMO Today newsletter, Klarna's CMO David Sandstrom was highlighted because of their use of AI and automation in marketing: https://lnkd.in/dPhaRnQs. My favorite quote: "I do think that the best marketeers are going to 10X [multiply] their impact and efficiency because they have these tools." This is what we've been seeing from our customers as well. Companies embracing AI and automation are seeing an increase in campaign output and a decrease in effort. Specifically for Klarna, they've "decreased by 25% its spending on external marketing suppliers for tasks such as social media, translation and production." Here are 3 ways you can get started with improving your own marketing process... 1️⃣ Ensure your campaign request process is automated and integrated to Braze. This is a pain point for most organizations. For example, move away from the manual campaign request process (e.g. Google form > Google sheet > manual checking of the sheet > manual creation of tasks for various teams). Leverage automation or a platform (Retool, ClickUp, Airtable, Atlassian Jira, etc.) to automate those manual tasks. 2️⃣ Test leveraging AI for language translation. For our customers, it's been faster and more accurate than typical translation providers. Is it perfect? No, and it's not intended to be. But it will get you 90% of the way there. And most likely faster & less expensive. 3️⃣ Create an AI copilot for marketing. Our marketing team at Stitch created an AI copilot for us in March and it's been incredibly helpful in generating new campaign ideas as well as testing and optimization strategies to deploy through Braze.
