WSP is a growing global family of engineers, scientists, technical experts and advisors that are collectively doing the critically important, innovative work our communities and the environment need to thrive today, and to prepare for a future that will look and feel substantially different. As we prepare to gather this week with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving, we take a moment to give thanks to our own WSP family — the people who make us who we are and make WSP a very special place to work — and introduce you to some of our Changemakers. We’ve no doubt you will find them as thoughtful, impressive and inspiring as we do. #WSPchangemakers #FutureReady #WeAreWSP

Join us today in commemorating the 60th anniversary of the iconic Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, designed by engineer Othmar H. Ammann of Ammann & Whitney, now WSP. This engineering marvel stands as a testament to innovation and resilience by its owner, Metropolitan Transportation Authority Bridges and Tunnels. Since its construction, WSP has provided vital services to maintain and protect the bridge, including years of in-depth biennial inspections of the suspended spans and ramps; specialized inspection/analysis of the cables and anchorages; and bridge painting of the cables and suspender ropes. Most recently, WSP (in joint venture) replaced 225,000 square feet of bridge deck and performed superstructure replacement in the anchorage spans, seismic upgrades and two-way cashless tolling implementation. Connecting the boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn, the Verrazzano is a crucial infrastructure link that also serves as the starting point for the world renowned New York City Marathon, highlighting its significance in both daily life and major events.
