T Levels reposted this
Minister Daby and Baroness Smith have today announced the conclusion from the review of qualifications reform. This includes: ➡️ Retaining 157 qualifications alongside A and T Levels that were scheduled to be defunded. ➡️ Cutting red tape to give colleges and sixth forms freedom to work with students to devise the best mix of qualifications for each learner. ➡️ A pragmatic approach to future reform that provides certainty to students and the post-16 sector that delivers high quality qualifications that spread opportunity and support economic growth. #TLevels are a crucial pipeline for Stoke-on-Trent City Council as they offer young people valuable industry experience and showcase the diverse roles within local government. In 2023/24, the council provided 16 clinical and non-clinical T Level industry placements in Health, as well as Business Administration, Construction, and Digital, across multiple departments. Placements proved so successful, it plans to increase capacity and offer 40 industry placements. Anna Woodberry, Workforce Development Officer, said feedback from managers has been positive. “They’ve enjoyed watching the students grow over the course of the year where they’ve become integrated into our teams and seen as valued workers, improving in confidence as they go. “We are keen to build on this momentum next year by expanding our T Level placement provision and giving more opportunities for young people to gain work experience in local government. They are our future, and we are committed to investing in them.” Find out more about hosting a T Level student on industry placement: https://ow.ly/B8hO50Ump9l #SkillsForLife
