Padmini Chintakayala so well said!
This one picture speaks to all the work we do at Nommli. Do we think this is cute? And a happy coincidence? Cute, yes! Happy coincidence, definitely not. This is just the tip of the iceberg representing thousands of students, parents, teachers, schools and organizations across the country vested in cultural diversity. Aarush, my 8 year old son, sang in Dutch, Hebrew, Spanish and French about our differences and how boring it is if we're all the same. ⌛ The multicultural landscape is set to become the majority population by 2050. Schools and institutions feel the sense of urgency to encourage culturally diverse mindsets at a young age. #genx and #millennial parents like Raj Peddapati and I are in a crunch to expose our children to diverse cultures so they are not left behind. But, what do we do after amazing cultural events like this? We go back to our lives, hoping for another event to happen. 🛑 I want you to stop and think. Why is it so hard to bring diverse cultural experiences home on your own?🤔 Other than being crunched for time, personally, I'd have to 👉 Research about these cultures, on my own 👉 Find a cool movie on this culture, on my own 👉 Search a bunch of Spotify playlists, on my own 👉 Search for fun facts to tell my family 👉 Find a good restaurant from this culture. Sometimes the cool ones are in a different state or city 👉 The most dreaded job, finding something for the family to eat 👉 What if I want to try a recipe? 👉 What if my kids ask "how do they say this..." in the language? 👉 Wonder about interesting books in that culture? 👉 Wonder what are some art & crafts of the culture? Endless searches. You guessed it...on my own. ⛑ After all this work, guess how I feel about putting together a diverse cultural experience for the family on my own? 😭 I love to be the cool parent, but it is a LOT of work. I still 💕my kids and want them to have cultural experiences at home and not just at school or other places of learning. But the fact is, it is too hard to do it on your own. Travel, learning, exploring food & culture, museums are great but fragmented, expensive, inaccessible and inconvenient. Which is why Nommli exists and brings all of these experiences under one roof, to your doorstep, every month. 🌟 So your kids can get on that stage with their chin up, make new friends and interact with the world with #confidence. 🌟 😎 AND YOU, get to be the cool parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt and friend that you want to be. WITHOUT all that work. 😎 #culturaldiversity #diversityandinclusion #children #timesnow #actnow
