  • "Lowest bidder wins" is not a strategy for hiring skilled tradesmen. 🙅♂️ It’s a trap that too many companies fall into. Hiring the cheapest labor may seem like a win at first. But here’s what it often leads to: 🚫 Poor workmanship 🚫 Missed deadlines 🚫 Costly rework Real hiring is about: 👉 Prioritizing quality over cost 👉 Vetting candidates for both skills and reliability 👉 Partnering with experts who understand your industry *cough cough LaborWorx* If your staffing agency is just sending you a flood of resumes and leaving YOU to figure out who's qualified, they’re not for you. In skilled trades, cutting corners on talent always costs more in the end. So, ask yourself: What do you value most in your hiring process? 😗 #skilledtrades #skilledlabor #construction #industrial #hiring

Sometimes, the best talent is already on your team - they just need the chance to shine. Take Jenna Sherman for example. Her story is one of resilience, adaptability, and ownership. At the start of the year, she was preparing to leave for a new role within the Oakley Services family. For a few months, she was helping out wherever we needed. But plans changed. We saw potential in Jenna and decided to pivot. We adjusted her title, gave her more responsibility, and transitioned her into an Account Executive role. When a key team member left, Jenna stepped up. She took ownership of their accounts, tackled a chaotic billing process, and worked seamlessly with accounting to bring things back into order. Her transformation has been inspiring to watch. From nearly leaving the company to becoming an indispensable resource, Jenna has shown what’s possible when opportunity meets determination. Thank you for everything you do for us, Jenna. We're lucky to have you! 🙌 #skilledtrades #skilledlabor #workforcesolutions #workforcestaffing

  • General contractors: You can't hand over your recruiting needs to just any old staffing firm. 😳 Your projects demand precision, skill, and experience and you can’t afford to bring on workers who are “close enough.” That’s why craft recruitment requires a specialized approach. A good skilled labor staffing company knows: 👉 The difference between a finish carpenter and a rough carpenter. 👉 How to find electricians who can handle high-voltage systems versus residential wiring. 👉 What certifications are actually required to meet safety standards on your job site. Craft recruitment takes an in-depth understanding of the trades, project requirements, and the nuances of placing the right person in the right role. Don’t risk your project’s success on a firm that doesn’t get it. Tell us: Have you worked with a specialized staffing partner before? How did it impact your project? 👇 #skilledlabor #skilledtrades #craftrecruitment #recruiting #generalcontractor

Growing up, Austin Ashworth didn’t just learn trades - he lived them. His dad owned a construction company, building custom homes from the ground up. By the time he was five, he was picking up nails, hauling trash, wanting to be just like him. Summers in high school? Spent with lumber on his shoulder, studying blueprints, learning the hard way. After college, he thought he was ready to take over his dad's business. Walked up to his dad ambitiously and said, "Alright, I'm ready." His dad looked him dead in the eye and said, “You’re not ready. Go work for someone else first.” So, he did. He worked in commercial construction, building everything from Chick-fil-As to strip malls and hotels. Eventually he’d climbed the ladder and started his own company. But then it hit him - he didn’t want to deal with all the things that come with running it all alone. In 2017, he took a leap and answered an ad for a staffing sales executive role. Turned out, he was good at it - really good. He helped open offices and grow teams, but something still felt off. He asked himself what he really wanted next. He’d just found out he had another baby on the way, and he needed a sign. Right on cue, a colleague called. He introduced him to Aaron Phillips and Britton Clark at LaborWorx. They met for coffee, and the rest is history. ☺️ Now, here he is at LaborWorx! It’s been a wild ride, but looking back, he's realized every step led him exactly where he's meant to be. We're so proud to have you on our team, Austin, as our EVP of Sales and Client Relations! 🙌 You're where you're meant to be. 💙 #skilledtrades #skilledlabor #construction #bluecollar

  • Staffing companies can be more than just a labor source. They can be project partners. For years, staffing in skilled trades has mostly been transactional. But we’ve realized that in today’s world, contractors need more than just bodies on site. They need trusted partners who understand the stakes of the job from the bid stage all the way through to the final walkthrough. So we've been bidding fixed-rate work as an hourly labor provider. This shift has transformed how we partner with contractors. Recently, a client came to us with a new approach 👇 🗣 “Here’s my scope. Here’s the manpower I need. What would labor costs look like so I can provide a fixed bid?” With this we’re not just supplying a crew - we’re helping shape the project’s budget and timeline. We work closely with the contractor, giving them confidence in their total labor cost, so they can give their client a solid, transparent bid. Is it more effort? Yes. But it’s more rewarding, too. By aligning our goals, we’re able to provide better manpower solutions, and our contractors can focus on materials and quality with fewer surprises. It's changing the way we work to help contractors not just fill jobs, but win them. #skilledtrades #skilledlabor #projectpartners #templabor

  • What makes someone a perfect fit for managing client relationships? Roy Roberson’s journey is a perfect example. After spending five years at our sister company AMCON Industrial, Roy brought more than just technical knowledge to LaborWorx - he brought the invaluable insights you only pick up in hallway conversations and water-cooler chats. His experience assisting on major projects at Amcon gave him a well-rounded understanding of the industry, but it’s his ability to build relationships that really sets him apart. With a background in ministry, Roy isn’t just a talker - he’s a listener. He knows how to connect with people in a way that makes them feel truly understood. When he steps into a room, you can feel his warmth, and it makes you feel like you’re in the right place. At LaborWorx, we’ve seen firsthand how Roy’s relationship-driven approach makes all the difference. While I some team members might be more focused on the transaction, closing the deal and moving on to the next, Roy excels at nurturing those long-term client relationships. He’s become the go-to guy for ensuring our clients feel cared for. Roy’s ability to build and sustain relationships isn’t just a skill - it’s an asset that has transformed the way we connect with clients. We're so lucky to have you on our side, sir! 🙏 #skilledtrades #skilledlabor #workforcesolutions #buildingrelationships
