What do you do when you have less than an INCH of wiggle room all the way around the machine you're relocating? 😳 Suck In! Then do this 👇 This 50,000lb G550 GROB Systems, Inc CNC milling center needed to be carefully transported and placed inside the building at GEMÜ Group in metro Atlanta. And it wasn’t as simple as just rolling it in. 🙅♂️ We used our 60/80 Landoll Company, LLC - Jobs 455, dock levelers, and Hillman Tracksporter to dollie it off the trailer. But there was a catch 👀 A 2-inch lip at the building’s entrance. To make the transition, we had to lay steel plates and shims to guide the dollies smoothly over the threshold. THEN came the doorway challenge. 🤨 At 11’11” wide, the machine barely fit through the 12’ doorway. Rotating it required porta powers, neoprene dollies, and the Hillman Tracksporter system. And throughout the process, we made sure to protect the customer’s flooring by laying down masonite. This is what precision rigging looks like.
