What an amazing few weeks! 🌟 We’ve been busy building Warmth Kits in partnership with XL Construction and Western Digital (San Jose and Fremont), and we couldn’t be more grateful for their incredible support. 💙 Together, we’ve packed enough kits to keep our unhoused community warm all year long! Over the weekend, we were honored to have students from the SJSU Wound and Ostomy Education Program volunteer alongside their professors at the Boccardo Reception Center (BRC), our largest shelter, and Rue Ferrari, one of our Emergency Interim Housing (EIH) sites. Our program participants were overjoyed to be provided with free wound analysis and care for their hands and feet. The support they received is critical to their health and well-being, and reminded them that they are seen and valued by the community. #FunFriday! 🎉 Yesterday, our Lived Experience ERG (Employee Resource Group) had its very first meeting! From sharing personal stories and offering advice, to karaoke, coloring, and just enjoying each other's company, the vibe was uplifting and full of support. 🎤🎨✨ Experiences United was created by our staff, for our staff – a safe space for everyone to share, heal, and support one another. As one team member said, “Healing hurts more than the wound,” reminding us that the path to healing can be tough, but we’re stronger together. 💙 This ERG is open to all employees, because we all carry some form of trauma and can support one another.
