Last week, GEM Coalition members Christine Roeder of Detroit Regional Partnership and Lauren Else of Mobility MI joined other #BBBRC members at the first-ever #ROADMAP Summit in Washington, D.C. Hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Economic Development Administration and the National Science Foundation (NSF), the summit was all about bringing the nation’s top innovation ecosystems together—along with partners from industry, philanthropy, academia and more—to chart the future of U.S. competitiveness in science and tech. With inspiring programming and plenty of opportunities to connect, we left with fresh ideas and actionable strategies we’re ready to put into motion. Yesterday, we hosted community ideation sessions where local leaders collaborated to help define “what’s next” for mobility innovation in the Detroit Region. Building on insights from our earlier listening sessions, these discussions focused on actionable steps to ensure the next generation of mobility meets the needs and aspirations of all our communities. By engaging with those who live, work and innovate in the Detroit Region, we aim to build a mobility ecosystem that is equitable, forward-thinking and impactful. SMTAutomation is a true #Detroit Region success story, from basement beginnings to industry leaders.
