#Macaúba #Congress 2024 During the Macaúba Congress 2024 in Campinas, #Sao #Paulo State, Iris Lewandowski (online) and Ricardo Vargas Carpintero (on-site) contributed in the session 🌱 "The role of agriculture in transitioning to a low-carbon economy in Brazil" with a view on the macaúba palm (Acrocomia aculeata): opportunities for sustainable and multifunctional agricultural systems in Brazil. 🌱   👉 More than 250 participants from various countries reported on advances from the seed to final products. Together with companies, public authorities and research organizations, the jump from potential to implementation of emerging #macaúba #value #chains and #webs was confirmed.   💬 The project AcroAlliance was present in this relevant event, with an active participation of the delegation from the Universität Hohenheim, the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV , the Universidade Federal de Viçosa, ITAL and IAC. The event concluded with a workshop organized by AcroAlliance to identify R&D challenges and opportunities.   Congratulations to our colleague Ricardo Vargas Carpintero for the award received for the posters presented in the congress!

🌴 The MACAUBA Congress 2024 is officially underway! The date is finally here! On October 23rd in the IAC Instituto Agronômico Campinas, Brazil the MACAUBA Congress started. 🌴🇧🇷 Day one kicked off with keynotes from researchers and industry partners along the Macauba value chain. The AcroAlliance project was present with a stand, where our colleagues from the Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV) showcased innovative by-products of the macauba palm. ⚗️🧪 The congress brought together researchers from around the world 🌎, presenting groundbreaking insights into macauba’s role in the bioeconomy. Representing Universität Hohenheim, Prof. Iris Lewandowski delivered a keynote highlighting macauba’s value from a Bioeconomy perspective. Yesterday the AcroAlliance 🌴 team meeting took place.
