Our latest CFO Survey is published today - read the summary report at the below link. Whilst there is still high levels of uncertainty among CFOs; expectations around Revenue (3 in 4 expect revenues to increase over the next 12 months) and inflation (expectations that this will be 3% for next 12 months) compounded by interest rate reductions sees 60% of Irish CFOs more optimistic about their business than they were six months ago (and Irish CFOs are nearly twice as optimistic as the European average!!). Great to meet Minister Jack Chambers this week with the team in Chartered Accountants Ireland to discuss the CCAB-I's Pre Budget 2025 submission. Thanks to the Minister and his colleagues for such an open, frank and engaging discussion. Interesting article from John Burns in today's Irish Independent around share based remuneration. Of note, the level of remuneration provided by share based remuneration is significant (€2.8 billion in 2023) and rapidly growing (€2.1 billion in 2022). However the system is complex for all stakeholders and needs to be simplified. The various regimes also need to be enhanced to support usage among SMEs who are increasingly having to offer share-based remuneration as a way of competing with larger competitors.
