Allyship- the small things you can do that make a difference. Small changes like capitalising the first letter of each word in hashtags can make a world of difference for those using screen readers. Too many social media posts are currently not accessible. Last week, I spoke to a few people I follow and they were unaware. So here is an example: Instead of #deafawareness, let's use #DeafAwareness.  It's a simple tweak that enhances accessibility and ensures everyone can engage with our content effectively.   Let's keep striving for inclusivity. “The only constant in life is change” Heraclitus Last week at the CIPD Festival of Work “change” was a big topic of conversation. I also promised in last week’s post to share the Transformational Leadership Qualities that we teach in our THRIVE for Leaders Programme. Today I co-delivered a 3 hour Masterclass on Navigating Change with the Wonderful Becki Nazareth for a group of 40 Auditors for a global bank facing lots of change. CHANGE IS EVERYWHERE! Old “change management” philosophies are outdated because they rely on stability either side of that change. With global change in climate, economics, government, tech and more, change is constant (thanks Heraclitus 👆) This means that those old models often end in burnout. 📣📣We need to replace Change management with Change Mindset.📣📣 Leaders, by employing the Transformational Leadership Qualities below you can help your organisations and teams navigate change? 1. So, I listened to the Audio book of ‘Buy Back Your Time’ by Dan Martell and as is the case when I love a business book, I buy the print version, then it ends up looking like one of my university text books. I loved this book as I agreed with much of the recruitment thinking - which is my background - so this was not new for me BUT what was, were the chapters around how to use your EA more effectively. Kathleen, my EA, is a superstar - she runs my personal and business life but I realised that we could be working better. We always say at Employee Matters that it is all about continuous improvement. The big takeaway for me was we were both dabbling in my inbox and I often went down that ‘rabbit hole’ as I like less than a page of emails at any time. The problem with this is that I am spending time doing potentially low value work to clear an inbox rather than working on tasks that value my buy back rate and having me working in my Production zone. Who do you know who owns a small digital agency they want to grow but often tells you: “We’ll have a great team meeting, then go back into our busy day to day lives. “We all forget what we committed to. I often forget what I’ve asked people to do. “Before you know it, a month’s gone by and I’m like, oh yeh, we said we’d do that…” Whether their small team (1-4 people) is hybrid, remote or office-based, I’d love to talk to them about a new productivity “Habit in a Box” programme.
