I helped launch Salesloft , Gong , 6sense and many others in the UK via Sales Confidence I’ll be honest I’ve not been as excited about a new GTM technology as much as I am about Clay (And for once I’m not being paid - yet ;) ) The flexibility, possibilities and opportunity to impact your pipeline is incredible. This has the feel of the Salesforce , HubSpot ecosystem effect. I’m seeing consultants, agencies, experts popping up in my feed particularly in the US rapidly over the last 6 months. I’m not surprised they have just raised $62 M at a $500 M valuation! Varun Anand and Kareem Amin are doing amazing things! I don’t really see it as a SDR or sales person end user tool…tell me if you feel differently? However, it’s application to drive productivity and efficiency accross your sales team is epic! Are you using or thinking about Clay in your tech stack? What love to hear about your use cases. What’s working and what isn’t? Who in the UK or Europe should I be following?

The job of your sales enablement tech isn't to drive product usage, give you more data, help you pass quizzes or beat bots. The job is to make you more money, by making your reps better. If you improve what your team says and how they say it, you'll generate more leads, close more deals, and boost retention rates. That's why 90% of GTM orgs invest in sales enablement tech. The upside of solving the real issue is huge. YET 90% of the things you teach reps never get used in front of clients. Your tech stack is failing you, and they're probably putting the blame on you rather than looking at themselves. Regardless of what tools you use, your reps don't practice, don't receive enough feedback and you likely have no idea if A) taught skills get used with actual clients and B) if it impacts your actual business. I look at this AE report every day at the moment: This graph isn't ❌ - Meetings Booked - Calls Made - Pipeline Generated - Deals Won (These graphs are obviously much taller 📈) This chart measures the number *meaningful edits* reps have made to Opportunities. We're tackling Salesforce adoption at the source. This keeps us accountable to our working hypothesis 🔄 - Meaningful data fuels our go-to-market strategy - CRM processes generate this data so must be followed - RevOps ensures this by making Salesforce useable (no annoying errors or useless fields) - Tracking this makes adoption specific and measurable Anyone else report on this / similar datapoints can RevOps use to drive process adoption forward? #crm #adoption #visibility #revops

We're seeing a key leading indicator in our Sales Cycles at the moment - duration between meetings. At a high level there are two sets of accounts: 1) those that are interested and willing to book meetings quickly in order to meet specific timelines, solve certain pain points, tackle key goals etc 2) those that are interested but aren't willing to book meetings quickly and need a couple of weeks to review things, speak to others, gather feedback Group 2 are evidently the ones that end up time wasting and eventually going Closed Lost. Here's a talk track I'd recommend to sense check this when setting next steps: "Appreciate you being so open about XYZ pain point, sounds like it's a high priority to solve this quickly. We want to match your urgency here, would you be open to meeting tomorrow in order to flesh out the Business Case?" Based off the response, it gives you a solid opportunity to run additional discovery, to challenge their priorities/timelines or to DQ effectively.

what was the most important part of my day as an AE? morning pipeline planning every single day 30 mins non negotiable every morning asking these questions about each deal: ✅ what can I do to influence this deal today? ✅ who else can I engage with at the account? ✅ what are the risks that need to be overcome? this meant my brain was constantly aligned to a plan of action - sometimes there wouldn't be much to do on that account for the day but I was constantly on top of deals and what was needed to drive them forward. even small, consistent touches like engaging on linkedin posts or clicking on their profile so they see your name go a long way rather than doing nothing on that day. #sales #saas #startups

For the last few months, I’ve seen an explosion in Partner-Led/Channel content on here. From a Channel Managers perspective, here’s a few reasons I think why: 1. Cold email & Cold calling are worn out and played. Think about how many random phone calls we get in a day? Email? Do you ever answer those calls or read those emails? Probably not. 2. With the usual avenues of getting to customers hyper saturated (see point one), partners are the quickest way to a customer. Think about your life, if a trusted person recommends something, how much more likely are you to give it a try? 3. The market is demanding it. Look at Rubrik’s IPO. 75% of their revenue came from their 3 largest channel partners. 75%! Microsoft’s revenue is primarily driven by partners as well. So at both ends of the spectrum, a new publicly traded company to arguably the largest vendor in our space. They. All. Go. Through. Channel. If I were a rep, I’d be working hand in hand with your partner managers and figure out who YOU need to talk to. From there, don’t go into that conversation empty handed. Ideally, you have an opportunity to work with them. At very minimum, you do some digging on their accounts and see how you can help that Partner rep with a POV. Never come with your hand out. Give, give, give, and watch your pipeline explode with partner-led opportunities. And listen to channel leaders on here, some of the information is insanely valuable.
