Top Insights from @Klaviyo Inside Retail 2024 Marketing Spend Report, as summarised by David Bedggood: ◼️ >80% of marketers expect competition to increase in 2024 so how to combat increased competition? Enhance personalisation to cut through the noise & consider if AI can play a role in the consumer journey. Use automation to prompt repeat purchases, testimonials and referral behaviour. ◼️ The digital channels considered ‘most important’ in 2024 are Email and SEO. Brands with large annual budgets are also strongly considering Programmatic, whilst the smaller budgets brands are leveraging a personalised and lower-cost campaign via SMS ◼️ 67% of marketers believe they will increase spend on video marketing – which makes sense given the array of applications and remarketing opportunities this format presents throughout digital marketing channels, especially social media. ◼️ Most advertising/marketing budgets are being pushed to increase – this goes hand in hand with high competition. In the online marketplace, this means that the cost to achieve a web visit or acquire a new customer will be more expensive than it used to be.
