I’ve seen brands cannibalize themselves with data. How do you measure impact, especially in more creative areas of brand marketing? ↳ You can’t often measure direct conversions in big celebrity partnerships. ↳ Engagement metrics in social are quickly becoming less reliable due to algorithms. ↳ Experiential events are limited by the small number of people you’re directly engaging with IRL. Brand marketing efforts like these require a broader, holistic view in measuring impact. And executive leaders can often lose sight of that when they just want to see the bottom line – in turn sacrificing resources and stifling creativity. As brand marketers, our job is to take a strategic approach to data analytics, distinguishing between easily quantifiable metrics and those that demand more creative measurements.
