Building brilliant corporate partnerships in Yorkshire, for the people of Yorkshire, and beyond.

Yorkshire Cancer Research HQ is a treasure trove and wow, I have a whole new appreciation of our staff who work in our very busy donation centre. As the new Corporate Partnerships Managers, Debbie Linford and I, wanted to experience #volunteering for ourselves, so we can share this with companies in Yorkshire who are looking for #employeevolunteering opportunities. We need you 🙏 at our HQ and in our shops, that currently span from Richmond to Castleford, Hull to Skipton! Sorting, displaying, selling, helps to raise funds and it’s about so much more. You will get to know other volunteers, their stories and motivations and have the chance to find out more about our work. To discuss, please call on 01423501269 or [email protected] See you in 2025!

  • A big thank you to Nuvem Solutions for raising £1,540 through their recent quiz night 👏 Hosted by our very own quiz master Andy, this is one of a series of fundraising activities owner Michael Woodcock, has organised in the last two years. In that time, Michael, with the support of his friends, family and Nuvem Solutions customers, have raised over £10,000 for pioneering cancer research. Thank you for your ongoing support 🤍

  • More than 500 stars dedicated to people affected by cancer are shining brightly on the Yorkshire Stars tree 🎄 Stars have been dedicated to celebrate people who have recovered from cancer, thank those who have shown their support, recognise people going through treatment and to remember loved ones who are sadly no longer with us. The Christmas display is available to view at the Yorkshire Cancer Research Centre in Harrogate until 24th December 🌟

  • A huge thank you to the team at De Vere for volunteering their time and enthusiasm to help sort donations at the Yorkshire Cancer Research Centre 👏 So far, seven members of the team have volunteered a total of 34 hours. Samantha Earls, Central People and Culture Manager said: 💬 “De Vere has committed to donate over 2,000 hours of volunteering in 2024, supporting local causes and developing valued relationships with the local community. "We were delighted to spend the morning with Yorkshire Cancer Research helping sort donations. It was also a great opportunity to find out more about the charity, and interact with other people”. We welcome volunteer support at our donation centre in Harrogate and shops right across Yorkshire. If your business would like to help, please get in touch at [email protected].

  • “After spending last Christmas in hospital, recovering from my cancer surgery, I’m so happy to be planning to spend the festive period at home with my family this year." 🤗 David Gold from Leeds was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2023. Following his diagnosis, his surgeon recommended FOxTROT 3, a clinical trial funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research. As part of the trial, David received chemotherapy before surgery to remove his tumour. The tumour shrank by one third, making surgery more straightforward and less invasive. Fast forward to this year, and David wanted to thank the people who supported him through his treatment. He has dedicated a Yorkshire Star to his wife Anne for being his "absolute rock", and another to his surgeon, Mr Richard Baker, for recommending him for the clinical trial that saved his life. Do you know someone who deserves to be recognised or remembered? Dedicate a Yorkshire Star to them this Christmas and, together, we can help Yorkshire shine 🌟 https://lnkd.in/gkJsi8am

🎄 A Festive Week Volunteering at Yorkshire Cancer Research Shops! 🎄 I had such a fantastic time this week working alongside the amazing staff and volunteers at Yorkshire Cancer Research shops. A special shoutout to the incredible teams in Skipton and Knaresborough for making me feel so welcome! Christmas is a busy and exciting time for the shops, with generous donations coming in before and after the holidays. I stayed busy sorting, pricing, arranging stock, and creating eye-catching Christmas displays—a creative and fulfilling experience that also gave me valuable insight into what corporate volunteering is all about. 🌟 Did you know? In 2025, Yorkshire Cancer Research will be opening new shops, so there’s likely to be one near you! Whether you’re looking to volunteer on your own or as part of a workplace initiative, there are plenty of ways to get involved. Many companies, offer paid volunteer days, giving employees the opportunity to support local causes. Sadly, these programs often see low participation—so why not take advantage of this incredible benefit? It’s a rewarding way to give back to your community while making a real difference. If you’re curious about volunteering opportunities, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to share my experience or point you in the right direction. Let’s make a positive impact together! 💙 #Volunteering #CorporateVolunteering #YorkshireCancerResearch #GivingBack #CommunityImpact
