More than 500 stars dedicated to people affected by cancer are shining brightly on the Yorkshire Stars tree 🎄 Stars have been dedicated to celebrate people who have recovered from cancer, thank those who have shown their support, recognise people going through treatment and to remember loved ones who are sadly no longer with us. The Christmas display is available to view at the Yorkshire Cancer Research Centre in Harrogate until 24th December 🌟

In a significant development, once in a lifetime, the Quad Cancer Moonshot has been officially launched today in Delaware by the global hub | United States, Australia, India, and Japan. This collaborative initiative aims to fundamentally transform the cancer care ecosystem and address the pressing need to eliminate cancer as a public health threat within the Indo-Pacific region. The initiative is projected to save hundreds of thousands of lives over the forthcoming decades. The Quad partners have consolidated their resources, expertise and innovative approaches to mount a comprehensive response to the cancer crisis, particularly addressing the existing disparities in healthcare access and treatment outcomes across the region. The overarching objective of this initiative is to ensure that advanced treatments and preventive measures are universally accessible, thereby reframing cancer from a formidable challenge into a manageable health condition. Through the Quad Cancer Moonshot, strategic collaborations in research are being established, best practices are being disseminated and community engagement is being prioritized. This framework is designed to empower individuals to take proactive steps regarding their health and well-being, while simultaneously articulating a clear vision for the future of cancer care—one that significantly mitigates the burden of this disease. As a symbol of international cooperation, the Quad underscores the importance of multilateral partnerships in addressing global health challenges. This initiative is poised to catalyze a global movement towards equitable and comprehensive cancer care, demonstrating the potential outcomes of collaborative governance among nations united by a common purpose. In light of these developments, it is imperative that stakeholders from various sectors rally behind the Quad Cancer Moonshot. More than one in three patients now wait over two months to start cancer treatment after an urgent GP referral. One in six wait over 90 days, according to new research for Zurich by Professor Hackshaw, at the UCL Cancer Institute.
