We know Leicester and Leicestershire are at the forefront of #sustainability, and it's great to see this confirmed by VisitEngland as two of these case studies come from our city and county!
Our goal is positive transformation for people and places. We want to build a #sustainable industry that leaves regions and communities in a better place, which is why we launched specialist case studies on sustainable practices in 2024, using real businesses across the country to inspire change and help grow local businesses and the local visitor economy. The case studies share insights such as how through resource management Mill on the Brue are saving £6,500 a year on electricity & £600 a year on food waste. Or how Leicester Museum increased their audience, and visitors, by involving the local community and in putting sustainability at the heart of their operation. And the #WellbeingFarm has attracted bookings & created an appeal for a younger generation. This is part of our work to build a stronger, sustainable and resilient tourism industry. And in early 2025 we’ll be launching our Regenerative Guide to Sustainable Tourism which will provide guidance on every topic in this wide-ranging and sometimes complex field and support to businesses looking to encourage more visitors and build a better business through eco-friendly practices. Access the video case studies on our website: https://lnkd.in/e32N8_4e #SustainableTourism #BusinessSupport #Sustainability #CaseStudies #RegenerativeTourism #EcoFriendly #BusinessAdviceHub

A fantastic offer for the city, and a way to really bring #Christmas spirit to #Leicester!
Day 1 of Santa's Inclusive Grotto is a wrap! 🎅✨ Today, we welcomed 28 wonderful children through our doors — it was amazing to see so many familiar faces. Running the Grotto always reminds me how tough/unfair life can be 🥺 But it’s also a chance to bring some Christmas magic to those who need it most. This year, we’re running for 14 days, 10am to 6pm, spreading christmas cheer to as many children as we can. This year my aim is to motivate other entrepreneurs do be more charitable not just with money but with time and effort. A huge thank you to my incredible family and friends—I couldn’t do this without your support. ❤️ Here’s to 13 more days of making a difference! 🎄

This is fantastic news!
News | Sycamore Gap sapling to be planted in University of Leicester Botanic Garden 🌳 https://lnkd.in/eHhi_ZVf The University of Leicester will receive one of 49 ‘Trees of Hope’ Sycamore Gap saplings from the National Trust. The saplings have been grown from seeds of the iconic Sycamore Gap tree that was felled in September last year. Each of the 49 saplings represents each foot in height that the tree was at the time of felling. The Sycamore Gap is situated along Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland. The tree that stood at Sycamore Gap had been part of the landscape for 150 years. There were over 500 applications for the saplings from individuals, groups and organisations across the UK. The applications were judged by a panel of experts from the National Trust led by arboriculture specialist, Catherine Nuttgens. #CitizensOfChange
