We are pleased to announce the successful partial sale of our investment in Moneybox, the award-winning savings and investment platform, achieving a return of up to 17x for early investors. We have backed founders Ben Stanway and Charlie Mortimer from the outset, leading the Moneybox seed round in 2016 and investing in every round since. This partial sale comes as Moneybox welcomes new investors, Apis Global Growth Fund III and Amundi. Oxford Capital retains the majority of its shares and remains one of Moneybox’s largest shareholders. Moneybox has reached a valuation of £550 million, an 84% increase since its Series D round in March 2022. The company achieved its first full year of profitability in the year ending May 2024 reporting a pre-tax profit of £27m and it recently surpassed £10 billion in assets under administration. Moneybox supports over 1 million customers in the UK. You can read more about this great news at City AM here: https://lnkd.in/guxYQXZN

🌱 25 years ago in a garage near Oxford, we founded Oxford Capital 📣 We recently spoke to the OxfordTimes who were the first publication to write about us many years ago and reflected on the incredible journey we have been on! Forgive a moment of sentimentality... 😍 🤩It has been a pleasure to work with so many incredible people and I am so grateful to each and every one of you for your contributions. There are thousands of you, too many to name but starting with my amazing colleagues, the brilliant founders we've backed, the thousands of clients who have placed your trust in us, the many legal, financial, regulatory professionals that have guided us along the way, and the countless others that have shared ideas, opened doors, connected with us or helped us become better investment managers. A deeply heartfelt thank you 🙏 🌅 1999 was a year of great excitement. The Internet was becoming a thing and there was an incredible sense of optimism. But within two years that bubble had burst and we experienced our first downturn. It is hard to imagine today but our second fund in 2003, was the only UK VC fund raised that year according to British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) data - a vintage of one! 😎 📈 Fast forward to today and we have invested over £500m into over 100 companies across the UK. And we are deeply proud to have played a role in developing the Oxford cluster, which is today stronger than ever. 🌳 We pioneered the first EIS fund, helping thousands of individual and family investors to access the emerging asset class of venture capital, with many of the features of institutional funds. The tax advantages set up by the UK Government in 1994 have since helped 56,000 companies raise over £32bn and this has been a cornerstone policy for the UK enterprise economy ever since, even being mentioned by Rt Hon Rachel Reeves in her most recent budget. 🏆 In our 25th year, we are proud to have been named Investor of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards & Community, we secured returns of up to 17x returns through a partial exit in Moneybox and have been ranked by MICAP as one of the top performing funds in our peer group. But most importantly, we have backed the founders of 7 new companies this year. You wont have heard of all of them yet as they are just starting out and join our portfolio of 30 companies. But we are as excited as ever about their potential to define our journey for the next 25 years of Oxford Capital - we cant wait to share more stories with you then. Oxford Time article: https://lnkd.in/eC3eSPMz Thanks to our great team: Lucia Gunn, Richard Oakley, Mark Bower-Easton, Chris Payne, Edward (Ted) Mott, David van Oss, James Witter, Sir Martin Smith, Ellie Chadwick, Stephen Hampson, Antony Shaw, James Stothard, Nicholas Sudlow, Millie Feeney, Jackson Price, Venkata Kolagotla, Hala Georgy, FMAAT, Elizabeth Morris
