Hej Venner, Nu har vi fået en tidlig julegave fra Christiansborg. Efter 144 år har vi nu en unik mulighed for at genoprette Gaardbo Sø og skabe et af Nordeuropas mest spektakulære naturområder på Skagen Odde. Med den nyligt indgåede politiske aftale på Christiansborg er finansieringen på plads, og vi står over for en historisk mulighed for at bringe dette stykke naturarv tilbage til livet. Genopretningen af søen vil ikke kun styrke biodiversiteten, Danmarks Natur; vandkvaliteten i Ålbæk Bugt og Kattegat men også give bedre grundvandsbeskyttelse og et smukt naturområde til glæde for både lokale, fiskeriet og kommende generationer. THE POWER OF GRIEF As I leave COP16 Colombia in Cali, Colombia, tears fill my eyes. I’m overcome with a deep, raw grief – grief for the natural world slipping away, for the beauty and vitality we are losing with every passing day. COP16 Colombia did not deliver an agreement, but it crystallised a collective realisation: everything we know and cherish about our natural world is disappearing, never to return. I find myself reflecting on grief, its potency, and how it has shaped my own journey here. Losing my partner Oliver to suicide in 2017 taught me the power of grief – it cracked me open, gave me purpose, and brought me here today, standing for what I love and cherish. I am grateful for that deep grief because I know that - Grief brings the power of transformation Grief makes you realise vulnerability is your greatest strength Grief disempowers fear and gives us courage Grief empowers deeper connections Grief allows us to stay present and to feel alive Grief allows us to release tension and anxiety Grief allows us to be grateful and value what we have not what we have not. Grief lets hope into our lives Grief is the healing power of sadness Grief makes us recall what we have been missing Grief forces us to pay attention Grief gives us deep perspective and grounding Grief is the power of empathy and compassion Grief kills the ego Grief allows us to step into our true power of leadership Grief allows us to be the very best version of ourselves Grief enables forgiveness without forgetting Grief offers a pathway to healing Grief transforms darkness into light Grief allows us to let go and surrender Grief keeps us curious with a lens of renewed abundance and opportunity Grief allows us to love I’m sharing this because our planet needs all of us to feel, stop, reflect and re-discover our inner knowing, our connection. Our bond with nature is the ultimate connection – to ourselves, to the people we love, and to the world that gives us life.
